German PC OEM Schenker, along with its two brands—XMG targeted at high-performance mobile workstations and gaming notebooks; and Tuxedo, targeting Linux-friendly notebooks; made a splash at the 2024 Computex. We visited their pullout booth. The EVO 14 is a 14-inch class performance notebook powered by choices of Intel Core Ultra 7 155H "Meteor Lake" or AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS "Hawk Point" mobile processors; an innovative new dual-fan cooling solution, with 65 W sustained power delivery, and an 80 Wh battery pack. The 14-inch display features a 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits brightness, and 3K resolution. Memory options go all the way up to 96 GB, and I/O includes either USB4 or Thunderbolt 4, depending on the hardware platform. The EVO 15 is almost identical in terms of specs, but with a larger 99.8 Wh battery, and a 15.3-inch 500 nits display, and a full-sized edge-to-edge keyboard.Update 07:03 UTC: We have some pricing and availability details from Schenker.

The Schenker Key14 is the company's flagship performance notebook. It packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, a studio certified and calibrated display meant for professional content creation; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics, and connectivity that includes a MUX switch, USB-C, Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, and 2.5 GbE. an 80 Wh battery powers the device. Schenker sells notebooks under the Tuxedo Computers brand for the Linux PC crowd. These are notebooks and desktops that are guaranteed to support popular PC Linux distros, and can even be ordered with them pre-installed. At their Computex 2024 booth, we spotted an interesting contraption, a prototype 14-inch Linux-friendly notebook powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite—the chip driving Windows-on-Arm ecosystem these days. The Snapdragon packs a 12-core hybrid CPU, and is configured with a TDP of just 20 W.The prototype Tuxedo powered by the Snapdragon X Elite is built in a premium all-aluminium body, and a weight of just 1.36 kg. Its 14-inch display features a 2560 x 1600 resolution (16:10), with 400 nits maximum brightness, and 100% sRGB coverage. The SoC is wired to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and storage is in the form of an M.2-2280 Gen 4 slot. Given the platform's low TDP, Tuxedo has given this a lightweight 50 Wh battery. Connectivity includes USB4 and HDMI. The company is working on a Linux distribution and software support package that ensures every hardware component on the platform is fully exposed and supported by the OS, which is why the company considers this still a prototype.Pricing and availability details from Schenker:
