ASUS Uses Fragrance Release in Notebooks, Rolls out the F6V

Take a good look at ASUS. First they come up with notebooks and PC monitors with leather infused, and then bamboo upholstery, and now, they've taken the "luxury" moniker to a whole new level, with a notebook that gives out fragrances. Believe it. The ASUS F6V is touted to be a "fragrance" notebook, not that it has the machinery to generate fragrances, but that the notebook has planted fragrance packs that send out the fragrance with flowing hot air from the notebook's heat-vents.

ASUS would be launching four models with identical system specifications, but different fragrances (flavours), chassis colour and body-graphics. Standard system specs include an Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 processor, ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics with 256 MB dedicate memory, 2 GB of DDR2-800 memory (up to 4 GB supported), a 250 GB SATA hard drive. It comes with a 13.3 inch screen, support for wireless networking, Bluetooth 2.1 and tips the scales at 2 kg (roughly 4 lbs).

If its decently priced then I'm sure people would buy it. And then remove the scent bags.
Asus's design department has way too much spare time on their hands... :shadedshu

Pfff, that is funny! I would find that annoying if i was sitting next to someone in the library and chicks laptop was smelly. However I would be intrigued that she had an Asus laptop.

i would so replace the scent packs with something more appealing. like, those pheromone things people sell on ebay to attract women.

Bad idea, I won't be happy sitting next to someone with a "Fragrance" laptop.

next thing they will think of is a laptop with a musky smell for men.
I'll give this little cookie an hour before we're doing the no-pants dance. Time to musk up.

Wow. Never ceases to amaze me. What cologne you gonna go with? London Gentleman, or wait. No, no, no. Hold on. Blackbeard's Delight.

No, she gets a special cologne... It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.

It's quite pungent.

Oh yeah.

It's a formidable scent... It stings the nostrils. In a good way.

Yep.

Brian, I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.
[cheesy grin]

That doesn't make sense.

Well... Let's go see if we can make this little kitty purr.

It will smell like chemical toilet cleaner, just like those "nasty" tree-scents you see in taxis dangling from the mirror.

Jesus, do companies really have to go this low to generate new ideas? SCENTED LAPTOPS?!?! what a waste of design time and money.

What you need to remember is that ASUS has identified that a large percentage of the future laptop buying customer doesnt understand Mhz, DDR, GPU, and cannot be educated in a reasonable timeframe either. However, they do understand pink, smells, shoes and handbags.

These laptops arent for us, boyz!

What will be on the masculine version of this concept? A sleek looking all black laptop with the fragrance of motor oil?

lemonadesoda as much as I agree with you on that. I still don't want to be sitting next to it in some public place. Or for that matter an airplane! @_0
