The AMD Athlon 950 was a desktop processor with 1 core, launched in March 2000, at an MSRP of $999. It is part of the Athlon Model 2 lineup, using the Orion architecture with Slot A. Athlon 950 has 512 KB of L2 cache and operates at 950 MHz. AMD is making the Athlon 950 on a 180 nm production node using 22 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Athlon 950, which limits its overclocking potential. With a TDP of 62 W, the Athlon 950 consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. The highest officially supported memory speed is 100 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. Actual memory technology support depends on the chosen motherboard, because the memory controller is located on the motherboard (not in the processor). This processor does not have integrated graphics, you will need a separate graphics card. Inside the box you will not only find the processor, but also a Yes cooler. A lot of games will not work on this processor, because they require the SSE instruction set, which is not supported.
