The Intel Pentium II Xeon 450 1MB was a server/workstation processor with 1 core, launched in January 1999, at an MSRP of $1980. It is part of the Pentium II Xeon lineup, using the Drake architecture with Slot 2. To further increase overall system performance, up to four Pentium II Xeon 450 1MB CPUs can link up in a multi-processor (SMP) configuration. Pentium II Xeon 450 1MB has 1 MB of L2 cache and operates at 450 MHz. Intel is building the Pentium II Xeon 450 1MB on a unknown production process using 8 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Pentium II Xeon 450 1MB, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 43 W, the Pentium II Xeon 450 1MB consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. The highest officially supported memory speed is 100 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. This processor lacks integrated graphics, you might need a graphics card. A lot of games will not work on this processor, because they require the SSE instruction set, which is not supported.
