Hi , I tried the method of Hal Mod but it didn't work and as a result i can't now Start up my windows with Dual GTX 260 core 216 as before ,

MY spec.

Asus Rampage x48
Q6600 3.30
Dual GTX 260 core 216.
Vista home premium x64 bit

anyone can help me to enable the SLI on this board and solve the unabliltiy to start up vista with 2 of GTX 260 on ?

I think the main problem is that your trying to do that on Vista. I am pretty sure it's only been tested on Win 7 and XP.

Ok , what about fixing the problem of being unable to startup vista within 2x 260 GTX ?

Try F8 > Disable reboot etc...

See if you can boot into safe mode and undo the halmod. If not you may need to reinstall and at that time, IMO, would look into installing Win7 x64 and try again.

HALMod is only for Win7 x64

Sorry I am late but there is a reason, a bad reason... :wtf:

I just killed one of my 8800GTs cards! :banghead:

I was quickly putting the pc back together to test, (I thought I would change power-supply because I didn't want to risk damaging anything with the old supply I have been using. ironic) I was excited and in a hurry so I did not notice that a feckin midi cable had got stuck on the 8800GT fan! :shadedshu

I powered-up the PC... but then the phone rang, about 10 minutes into the phonecall I thought - "what is that funny smell?" Then the screen went black. You can work out the rest of this story... I can not repeat what I said next or I will be banned from the forum. :twitch:

But... I will try and borrow another 8800GT card from my friend tomorrow to test rev 4. I can not believe this has happened after all the hard work anatolymik has done for me. I suppose that I have waited 3 years to try SLI on this board so another day will not hurt, much.

Nothing worked out Guys i've tried every solution mentioned here except installing a new Windows Version . any suggestions before doing a new installation ?
