Ok I just pre-order the EVGA 470GTX Superclocked Card. :) for $380 shipping included.

Play for it for a week, if it makes too much noise and it gets way too hot.
Ill just sell it on ebay and hopefully make a profit :) hehe

As pointed out at by w1zzard's review, it seems overclocking a 5870 gets you more benefit than overclocking a 480 GTX

470 is a good card and have a good performance/price ratio but temps are the problem.

Probably the 480 isn't oc'able at all unless one watercools it.
It already reaches 96 degrees during gaming load, and W1zzard's ambient temp was 22 degrees, and it's winter. Imagine the warmer summer months.

Well, I got to say. If it wasnt for Nvidia's CUDA, I would of jumped ship to ATI.
Because I am not at all impressed Nvidia :shadedshu

so taking into consideration of the added ingredients how did you think the egg performed?

It might have worked if you put tin foil on the top of the card and the egg directly on the tin foil.

i dont think so. it would need to be exactly 70 at the least. that and the ambient temp wouldnt help how even it cooked.

When the games will make a massive use of DirectX 11 and the tessellation (which is not yet the case), nvidia will show in a much better day. Nvidia is the king of licencing.

nvidia keep making bigger and bigger chips just to compete with AMD. What's going to happen when AMD bring out the 6 series with the new architecture? how are nvidia going to make fermi more powerful? they already suck huge amounts of power and run at near boiling point. It's ridiculous. whoever makes up the designs at nvidia need to be dragged away from their desk and told to sit upon their creation while it runs crysis.
