I'm pretty sure he was messing with you.

I doubt it after talking to Laughingman i actually forgot there were mods to use Bloom + HDR in Oblivion

because HDR didnt apply to all objects so Bloom was needed, problem was Bloom also applied to same objects that HDR did its a double edged sword. now considering ive messed with just about every settings in the ini at this point theres literally no changes in Skyrim from FO3 / NV / Oblivion to the point I honestly expect alot of armor mods from Oblivion to get ported and retextured in Skyrim and since the scripting is similar that can be ported as well I mean if people havent forgotten Morrowind was successfully ported to Oblivion it was wonky but text quests, and etc all functioned that was a 3-4 year difference the engine stayed the same, alot of content from Oblivion can be direct brought into New Vegas again 4 year difference across 8 years content can be pulled into the engine and work as intended

and all Bethesda really added to Skyrim was the same stuff modders added to Morrowind and Oblivion years earlier,

weather system with Dynamic weather, available for Morrowind and Oblivion if i remember correctly

dual wielding. also modded in,

as far as companions etc they actually took a step backwards compared to Fo3 and New Vegas in that regard. but overall Skyrim is still a great game, just Bethesda isnt really doing anything more then cut copy paste much like call of duty, but the modders will most likely once again take skyrim in random directions offering what Bethesda cant due to time constraints hardware limitation etc.

also for those wondering Ugrids to load still works and still increases graphics quality

mix below with FXAA injector and ini tweaks for a much better game visually.

i recommend using the following

add it to the [GENERAL] section of your skyrim. ini might also need to be forced in the skyrim default.ini in the games install directory.
uGridsToLoad=7
uExterior Cell Buffer=64
you can try using the following as well
iPreloadSizeLimit=262144000

(uGrids + 1)^2 = Exterior cell buffer

please backup your save files when doing this, as once you change this and save game you cannot change the Ugrids back to default because your saves wont load, so test for stability first.
im stealing these images as im to lazy to make my own gifs.

it should be mentioned unless you have enough ram for a ram drive or have the game on a SSD dont use Ugrids 9 or anything past that on top of stability issues performance tanks because the game is basically

method to calculate ugrids and uexterior cell
(uGrids + 1)^2 = Exterior cell buffer

example default in game is uGrid 5 (5+1)*5+1 is 36 aka 5+1= 6*6 = 36 thats the games default uGrids 5 Exterior 36
(5+1) = 6 * 6 = 36
(7+1) = 8 * 8 = 64
(9+1) = 10 *10 = 100
(11+1) = 12 * 12 = 144

so for users on epic Sandybridge E rigs running 16gb of ram or higher using software ramdisk would make ugrids 9 or above worth using same goes for SSDs but essentially much like Morrowind its possible to force the entire game world to render major landmarks again i suggest ugrids 7 for stability / performance.

ALSO FOR THIS TO WORK MAKE SURE TESV.exe MUST BE LARGE ADDRESS AWARE!!!! IF ITS NOT YOU WILL CRASH AND BURN YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

another example here

some of this info i feel should be added to the first post as it really does dramatically improve visual quality of the game.

yes it will

but most users with a decent gpu shouldnt have any issues

ugrids 5 to 7 is a 5-8 fps drop

7-9 is a 25 fps drop for me and is unplayable, with 1 gpu, if xfire worked properly i would have playable frame rates.

this is simply for those that want the best they can get,

7 is the sweet spot for performance / quality you can go higher but do so at your own risk

in all honesty this has less of an impact then trying to force higher draw distances for trees and grass etc, in general you can lessen up the draw distances for many other things and use Ugrids to get better quality at comparable frame rates, but look at my system specs Im gonna push this game to its limit

I pushed it hard enough it corrupted all my save games and i had to start over. but ive messed with just about everything a person can mess with, the above is pretty much the easiest way to get better visuals.

I used the skill perk selector tool I posted earlier and found out that by level 50 I can have all the perks I want. That's if I were to make a new character though, so hopefully there's a console command for me to just reset my perks.
"player.removeperk <perk ID>" will remove a perk, but it won't give you the perk back to add somewhere else. However, you can just do "player.addperk <perk ID>"

I think I'll do this to replace a few perks that I regret getting instead of making a new character. Kinda cheating, but whatever.

List of commands here.

I'll be having to use the command console in this way soon to get rid of an item which the NPC did not take back after completing the quest.

I only have classes for two days, Tuesday and Thursday, so lots of "free time" to play.

I started playing 30 minutes ago. Because the case is below the keyboard, I can feel the hot air being exhausted from the case.

Forcing ("Overriding application settings") 8x Supersampling and 32x CSAA f**ks up the HUD.
And there's a 10fps performance drop.

Same thing with 4x SS and 32x CSAA. Only a 5fps performance drop though.

No Supersampling, 32x CSAA forced: whole screen is f**k'd up.

16xQ (16x CSAA: 8+8) only: HUD still all over the place.

16x (16x CSAA: 4+12) only: Screen is black.

8x CSAA: same story as above.

In all cases (where the screen isn't black), water (when not in falls) looks almost transparent. Also, when the screen isn't blank, I had to bring up the task manager first for it to show up after loading is complete. No "Antialiasing compatibility: Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion, Fallout 3" used.

-------------------------------------------
Using "Enhance Application Settings"
32x CSAA: Screen is black.

32x CSAA ("Antialiasing compatibility: Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion, Fallout 3" used): Same result.

16xQ (16x CSAA: 8+8) and 8x Supersampling ("Antialiasing compatibility: Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion, Fallout 3" used): Same result. And it even got worse, the drivers crashed.

16xQ (16x CSAA: 8+8) and 4x Supersampling ("Antialiasing compatibility: Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion, Fallout 3" and "Antialiasing - behavior flags: Fallout 3" used): rainbows on the screen, goes blank, I do the CTRL+ALT+DEL trick, the game shows up. HUD no longer f**k'd up. Water (when not in falls) looks almost transparent. Barely any performance hit (2-3fps drop only).

Besides the HUD f**king up and the water suddenly becoming almost transparent when not going through falls, it actually looks a bit better. Not worth it though.

All tests have all settings at their highest option. AF is also at 16x.

I have mats for the dragon armour but not for the full set with legendary upgrades,i managed to upgrade the daedra set to legendary,is less difficult because you can buy the daedra hearts.

Deadra hearts are extremely rare, sounds like you got lucky from vendors. I check them everytime I come to town and have seen 1 for sale ever. Everyone I know crafted Legendary Dragon Armor before Daedric. You also don't need to make it Legendary, if you enchant it, it will gain the same amount of armor as Refining it would.

herp derp guy at the sky forge in whiterun aka the smithy above the Companion guild trains you in smithy up to a max of 90 it gets expensive quick.

Yeah that guy gets insanely expensive, just cheaper to make hide belts/helms and iron daggers.

Wondered how a friend reached 100 smithing skill within a couple of days of playing Skyrim.
But he's also done something to get 1.5million.
He's on XBOX BTW so no command console.
But then he also found a bug with one of the NPCs which allows him to continue to train with them even though he has reached the training limit.

It's not hard to level Blacksmithing, could have hit 100 in the first day if you spent all your money buying leather scraps/leather/iron ingots to make the three things I described above. The bugged NPC that trains as far as I know is only an Archery trainer. You can accept him as a companion, train, then trade him back for your money. Don't think there is a Blacksmithing or any other trainer you can do that with.

This game is getting more fun every time I try to make time to play it.
I am now on Level 13 with smithing at 60 and Duel wield at 50 or so. My dual wield has some nice deadly blows.

I did not kill a mammoth yet, I feel bad for them, they don't attack me even when I try to pet them. I also did not fight a dragon yet either. I do notice this game gets into your head in a positive manner. This company has a winning formula with this Elder Scrolls series, and I call for a motion picture ASAP for the original Elder Scrolls and a 2nd based on Oblivion and the 3rd on Skyrim.

I'm at level 20 now, killed 4 dragons, collected 3 shouts, and loving it. Killed a few giants, just have to keep away from them, as I'm a light-wearing ranger. Having a bear of a time trying to get my ranged shots zeroed in..... Aiming doesn't quite seem to follow previous incarnations, and while
I like that they incorporated stam drain into special shots, I DON'T like that they applied it to the zoom...

yeah archery gets overpowered fast though. soon enough you will sneak kill giants in a few shots, and never be seen. and i installed a mod as the drain was just waayyy too fast. unreasonable imo.

I've seen a picture of a bandit being decapitated.
How can you decapitate someone?
Is it enough to use a sword?

it'd have to be in those action kill shots, like vats shots from fallout - the actual engine doesn't allow dismembering.
