Agreed , some card manufacturers will also extend a warranty sometimes if you register within 30 days... Galaxy is one of them on particular models.

PS if i was gonna OC these cards heavy (especially in SLI) I'd spend the extra $15.00 per card to lower @3 degrees C per card. Well probably wouldn't be that if in SLI cause limited airflow space between cards but could still help.

Thanks, I've been in IT for 10 years so the thought of overvoltage intriques me *rubs hands "power, power.. more power" evil laugh* but I gathered exactly what you are saying that basically don't do it unless you know what to do and stick with stock to be safe... BUT, if you'd care to share a link for my curiosity please share. I'd love to learn and I have a card or two I could sacrifice to the card gods for sake of "learning" lol.

Yes, PNY gives you lifetime warranty also if you register on the first 30 days after purchase.

I run two of these cards in SLI and the hottest I've seen them get so far is around 73 degrees, pretty cool if you ask me

Still I would take a free grill that reduces that temp 3 degrees further down any day of the week the cooler the card runs, the higher GPU Boost will dynamically increase your clock under load

Reference design cards are what vendors are selling, they don't "have" to give you anything if they are selling it at MSRP pricing. If evga were to provide the hi flow bracket, expect a $15 premium, and then more bitching from consumers, am I right?

My 5870 made its way in life by almost a whole day before I ripped its cooler off and yes, the cooler actually had to be broken due to one hell of a tough screw.

EVGA doesn't make the cards

I suppose on that point I get where this has merit. EVGA probably never even touch those cards, they send stickers and retail packages, to the company making them and never even touched them. But if they still shouldn't limint it to just 200, although that could be all they delivered on release day. Each AIB got somthing like 200 referance card each, so say what 6-8 AIB's 1,200-1,800 cards dried up right quick.

And don't forget about the bad connector port arrangement. But I did see somewhere a company had single slot watercooling the moved one of the six pins and changed the connectors.

...So your telling me that adding 4 little holes lower it by 3c? Why not just cut the whole thing apart

Actually, there are more than four additional holes, compare the images more closely. Additionally, there are less restrictions to the airflow as the gaps are larger with thinner seperation. Finally, you would void your warranty to cut the bracket apart with a dremel or drill. EVGA doesn't have to offer anything, since they provided the same reference bracket by default as everyone else... I for one as an owner of two eVGA GTX 680's registered for brackets for both cards and like the freebie!
