The CM Force 500 is the first of the all new Cooler Master case series: CM Force. These black, classy and affordable cases will be hitting Europe soon and the CM Force 500 will be the first. Even though the price lies at a very decent €39.99 this case offers a lot of the latest features.

Every modern PC needs decent cooling to handle the components that keep getting hotter and hotter. The CM Force 500 will have you covered for this demand with a possibility to install up to 6 fans, of which 2x 120mm can be installed in the front. Even more impressive is the fact that this case gives a lot of freedom to add water cooling. It support one 240mm and one 120mm radiator or you have the option to install 3 120mm radiators. This case is ready for everything you throw at it.

This case offers brilliant cooling options for a reason: It offers room for a lot of high end hardware. The CM Force 500 can fit virtually any VGA card on the market; even the monstrous HD7990 does not pose any kind of problem. Next to that you also have the possibility to mount the PSU at the top of the case, a feature that is sought after more and more in modern cases to make sure virtually every PSU can be fitted into this case. Of course there is also plenty of space for getting the cable mess out of view to give this case the clean look it deserves.

The CM Force 500 will be available in Europe by the middle of February (this may vary per region) for a recommended price of €39.99.

For that price it looks pretty good. They did run the ATX power cable through the fan mounts though. :p

I like those fans spaces on the right side. Can make for some serious airflow for cheap. I did find this statement kinda weird though:

Next to that you also have the possibility to mount the PSU at the top of the case, a feature that is sought after more and more in modern cases

Is that true? If anything everyone moans about top mounted PSU's. I personally like bottom mounts better, but at this price..

Side mounted radiator is the best feature of this case. Although I would like to read a review before recommending case to anyone.

:confused:Am I missing something or is the cable routing from behind mb tray not possible with 2xfans/240rad on right side..

I see system installed in the pic#5 but no side fans.. pic#3 has them but not the system..

beyond that this seems a good case for the price (EU only?)

Was thinking the same thing myself. The last several gaming systems I built were all bottom-mounted power supplies. Kinda like the case other than that.

Top mounted PSU is the new Bottom mounted PSU, duh
It's kinda like how white is the new black in cases

That is what it looks like. It is a small entrance at the bottom for cables, but it's tiny..

I only hope the "classiness" will carry over to the higher end CM Force cases. I'm curious about the cable management thing as well though.

Why would they put the PSU at the top? This could limit the use of some coolers to be installed.

I think there are perfectly legitimate reasons to have a top-mounted PSU. Bottom mounted PSUs can easily struggle against dusty carpets (even with filters), and a top-mounted PSU can act as a top exhaust, but one that coffee won't fall through when you spill it onto the case :p

I really strongly dislike the unfiltered intakes on the side, though. Not because they're on the side (that's fine), but because they're unfiltered intakes.

I agree on the ventilation part but having a PC on carpet is just a more susceptible way to have a component be damaged due to build up of lint or dirt and have static discharges. I have mine on my desk and the vent cleaned often.

I have my PC on a plank, on carpet. But given that it's plugged in to an earthed socket (so no danger of static damage), if I had a top-mount PSU, I wouldn't need the plank.

Considering some of the over designed dogs to come out of the CM case design dept. in the last 2yrs, this is the height of restrained sophistication.

A definite improvement.
