Swiftech Announces the MCR140-X Drive Radiator, Pump, and Reservoir Integration

The next case of juggling with the way parts are arranged in a liquid cooling loop, comes from Swiftech, with its MCR140-X Drive. This contraption fuses a 25 mm thick 140 x 140 mm radiator with a reservoir and a pump, so you could plumb it to a conventional CPU or VGA block. Its pump unit draws power from a SATA power connector, and can spin between 1,200 and 3,000 RPM. It features a ceramic shaft, and PTFE bearings, which lend it an MTBF of 60,000 hours. The unit features conventional G1/4 fittings, and an additional fill port. An acrylic window lets you keep tabs on the coolant level. Selling now, the MCR140-X Drive is priced at US $89.99.

not sure whats with all the negative comments, this is the exact same thing that swiftech showed earlier but then cut down more so you have more freedom as a consumer and that previous cooler worked incredibly well so this will probably preform well as well.

Looks like it's a Laing DDC pump so yeah it should be just fine.

I kinda like this thing it makes building a custom loop that much smaller simpler which is a good thing

Interesting design, its just similar in a way to the H220X but with a single radiator and designed with space savings in mind. I could see this being cool on an MATX build especially if you want to make something custom inside a small config.

There are hardly any M-ATX cases that support 140mm fan mount on rear panel.

First one that comes to mind is the DeepCool Steam Castle, but I feel there are enough where I could see this being of value.

I think something like this could be really popular - if they could make it in a 1x120mm form factor as well.

The cooling performance of this unit by itself probably wont be all that great, but you also have to factor in the fact that it's taking care of pump and reservoir placement (which can be a huge pain when you're trying to configure a water loop in your case) inside a 140mm fan space. The pump should be strong enough to add plenty more radiators and multiple blocks (assuming swiftech/rouchon took care of the initial reliability issues the earlier ones had), which is, I think, the main idea behind this.

What is ugly? Buy this for GTX780 Poseidon or GTX980 Poseidon, you will pay less than Accelero Xtreme water-cooling graphic card.
Someone must force ASUS to stop to launch cards with inferior clock to MSI, Galaxy and EVGA. Their random chips among all models spoil reputation of ASUS ROG.
Clock for ROG Platinum series must be 10-20MHz more or less than highest fabric OC model for same chip. Less marketing for Alloy chokes, higher clock.
120mm to 140mm adapter on front panel than 140mm fan and this X-Drive connected to Poseidon and you will see temps. She cry for this.
