In respect of above quotes, game does have a few gameplay bugs. I had the jumping one. Still getting annoying weapon sheathing in combat. What I can't get over his how hard it is against monsters.
I'm only level 7 mind and things at level 12 just rip me to pieces and my damage on them is insignificant. Plus, I can't wield my crafted weapons or armour or till about level 16. WTF!

There are other diagrams for crafted weapons and armor for lesser levels. I've crafted awesome steel and silver swords I'm using now!

As to monsters, there are a particular 2, and I don't want to mention by name lest someone accuse me of spoiling, that are nearly impossible for 1 and the other one is certain death. I JUST hit level 7 too. There is definately no unrealistic fast level progression!

I find it very comfortable with mouse and keyboard. No real problems at all.

@rtwjunkie I think it is not the game installation. I have tried reinstalling the game before but it did not work. A bug or glitch? Also it occurs randomly and cannot be predicted or reproduced, but when it does it locks the game. Sometimes I could open inventory several times without problem. Sometimes I only needed to switch to desktop, open Task Manager and close the game with it when it did not respond. Sometimes I had to press the reset button to reset the whole system.

Is anybody using NVIDIA driver other than 352.86? I am using 347.88 because 352.86 caused TDR when I was working with Photoshop. I read that owners with Kepler cards perform better with 347.88 although I have Maxwell, not Kepler.

And what about the v1.04 update? Does it fix your problems, if any? Or perhaps it introduces new problems?

Well, I had already recorded between 48 and 60fps with 347.88 prior to 1.04. I will have to run a test tomorrow to see if 1.04 affected that. However, my gut says no. No negative effects, and it plays as smoothly as before.

How stupid can one be? I managed to eliminate the inventory lockup completely by running the game in fullscreen mode. I did not realise the borderless windowed mode was causing it because I did not have crash or lockup unless I open inventory. Now I have zero problem. Full graphics options with the exception of HairWorks which I disable, improved performance thanks to 1.04 update and no lockup. Happy as I can be.

I'm actually enjoying this game a lot.. Thought it would be more open ended tho, more skyrim-ish where f the story line and go do side stuff. Maybe it is and I'm just not seeing it but I just got past killing the first boss (bird lion thingy) and visited the emperor.

Well, I'm up to level 19, but I've also been playing it non-stop and I'm at about 47 hours, lol. I've got diagrams for some high level weapons and armor too. Just have to save it for later!

Not going to lie, combat is far too clunky and slow for my tastes, even with 5 points in the attack speed perk. Makes engaging more than 3 enemies a blind roll and click fest.

Also mounted combat is OP as all hell. Took on 5 level 7's and 4 level 16 shieldbearers at level 5. All I did was charge on horseback, whack one in the face, and then turn for another charge. Horse doesn't scare easily against human opponents.

Spent the whole of yesterday (~7 hours) completely clearing the first map of all loot and hidden areas. Found the chest in the lake underneath the broken boat surrounded by drowners in the water, except it had nothing but crap in it.

Crafting system seems kinda cool though, however I'm struggling with cash. I seem to be spending all my money breaking down and crafting items, and not really selling anything. Haven't had any type of armour besides Light drop so far, which is a touch annoying.

Performance Analysis for 1080p. Processor usage much higher, I can see why the i7 is recommended for max settings.

I pretty much never have to worry about money anymore, just selling things and completeing lots of Witcher Contracts and secondary quests. I think I have 13k right now. By the time you get to Novigrad you'll probably have lots of crowns and things you can't use, but there is a banker dwarf there that can exchange them into orens, that was a pretty hefty cash infusion.

The combat doesn't really feel clunky. It sucks when there are multiple enemies, but I started also using dodge, instead of just rolling everywhere and that helps quite a bit.

Mounted combat OP? If your horse doesn't run yes. But even against humans it really isn't 'OP' in my book. It only works well if you have room to move about, and when there aren't too many archers around. And in that respect its pretty realistic, I mean there is a reason cavalry was feared back in the day... And the horse can't even trample the enemy underfoot yet.

Meh the game is GPU heavy, there's not a whole lot of CPU calculations going on.

66% usage of an i7 on 1080p is not really lacking in CPU calculations. I'd say the game is pretty heavy in both departments.

It's just when the game gets utterly crippled by a GPU that can't handle the load, it becomes a bottleneck, CPU usage goes down.

The game on 1440p takes about 1250MB on my RAM and around 30% CPU load average according to CoreTemp desktop gadget. Meanwhile the GTX Titan is at full load (with 1.7GB vRAM used), so it is already a bottleneck.

There is probably more side quests, and more to do completely unrelated to the main quests than skyrim.

You have to interact with people, read every notice board, walk every road and explore off road.

I am in Valen still, just turned level 8, and have been in Valen for at least 12-15 hours and I am not even close to leaving here. My Valen map is COVERED in question marks!

@RCoon thank for the 1080 testing! Looks like your cpu/gpu scores confirm my own unofficial observations!! In fact, between 55 and 65% cpu usage on every thread, so thats 8 threads who's graphs all look pretty similar. It definately involves the cpu a great deal!

I disagree, horse combat is not OP. You definately have to have room to turn around, and dont forget, my stupid Geralt likes to sheathe his sword when I do that. And its much less effective against more dangerous monsters like nekkers, or alghouls or rotfiends, especially when there are 2 or more. Most of the time if something stops your horse movement or they catch you before you can turn around, Roach will dump you.

I also find money a very slow gain. I never have enough. Luckily my map is covered in question marks in Valen, so Ive got alot more chance to earn some.

Absolutely, it's just vs humans when its ridiculous. I could never take on 9 enemies, 4 of which are triple my level without the mounted combat though.
Against monsters it does not work very well at all, unless it's singular super slow enemies.

And whats with the alghouls??? Was there ever a more OP monster??? I mean wtf??

As to vs. Humans, if you're both on horseback it's even odds. Now put yourself on foot versus 4 or 5 bandits. You get the short end of the stick, which is as it was historically in medieval times...unless you had something like a pike to deal with the horses. However, with just a sword, you really can't compete.

In the Bestiary it tells you what to do! I think Axii makes them put their spikes away so hitting them doesn't damage you. Or just use Quen a lot.

LMAO! Thanks, but until I actually defeated one there WAS no entry in my bestiary. I managed to damage one and had almost no health left. So I ran screaming like a little girl, with one on my heels like a rabid dog on a mail deliverer,, eating baked potatoes as fast as I could until finally turning around and did a final showdown. That's the only time I had the opportunity to cast Anything and fight. I hate them soooo badly!

Oh yeah, I accidentally found a much worse monster guarding a treasure. The only one who took damage in that one was me! 6 reloads and I finally decided I will come back when I am level 20 or so.

I think it's the Swallow potion, the one that restores vitality. If you haven't crafted that one yet, do it, it helps immensely. Heals much faster and more than any food item.

I think it's the Swallow potion, the one that restores vitality. If you haven't crafted that one yet, do it, it helps immensely. Heals much faster and more than any food item.

Yes it does, but I've been conserving it, since I intensely dislike spending 20% of my time looking for alchemy components. It seems I stop my horse every 50 feet, head out in the bush on foot to the leaf symbols and pick them. Head back to horse, rinse and repeat.
