The text has been amended. The "job" opening is for people that live in the US or Canada. Not sure about the accent part. I think they actually need someone with an "international english" accent, as in "no accent". Even if british accents are all the rage right now. Maybe that needs to be clarified too.

the guy works in IT, he writes for TPU/NPU, he keeps the forums clean and slaps bitches for TPU but above all, he likes a good whisky which is certainly something i can get down with.

The thing about wanting a US/Canada person because of language is it's based on a misconception that the U.S. has a generic sound and dialect. For those that know German, for instance, a Berliner has to concentrate to understand the dialect of Rhineland-Pfalz or Baden-Wurtemberg, and ALL of them wonder WTH Berliners did to eff up the language so much with some of their oddities.

In the U.S. it's just as bad, only multiply by power of 10, with well over a hundred dialects and accents, some based on as small a region as the 50 miles surrounding New Orleans where I live. Then there is the seriously delinquent state of the U.S. educational system, and you see the assumption goes south. The only people who really have that "neutral" accent you are looking for have had it trained into them because they are in the television news industry.

I can change it. I've gone to a British school up to grade 3 and grade 3 onward a more American sounding school. So I can change it. The only problem is that I tend to flip flop between a very light British accent and a light American accent depending on which one I last heard.

It's too bad I'm bellow the age limit.

i think our crappy internet rules us out, as well as added expenses for travel to trade shows, shipping costs for items to review, etc etc.

People from northern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania and northwestern New York as well as those from Toronto Canada make up a vast majority of T.V. Journalists because we speak in a very clear bland accent. I believe that people in central California share the same accent as well.

Sounds like a blast. I am very interested in this.
Problem(s) is. My rural broadband(200k dl booo), I work 60-70 hrs a week already, I'm 38, I live in N.S. so I sound like a drunk fisherman(not my fault), I cuss naturally and by that I mean I can't stop(My Dads fault). I can edit Youtube videos from my time managing a Chrysler sales media team and have done lots of walk around vid's but most of the time was spent editing(They should have a bleep tone) not filming.
All kidding aside. Shame on you guys for your timing.
Crap! I should have stayed in town. 2.4 Mb dl's there. Once I left Chrysler I removed all "my" Youtube work as well. (spite)
