Hmm... I want more ships!! I'm broke... I do have the 325A fighter (with the crappy stock cannon and so-so laser...) and the Aurora MR all stock as well.

I haven't played enough yet to even know much about upgrades...but could use a little guidance here. I keep seeing you buy more ships...and while I'd love to, dunno if I can swing it budget-wise atm.

Maybe I'd be better off doing weapons upgrades?

The Omnisky VI is one of the best laser technically (if it didn't change since last time i played)... i didn't upgrade weapons but i bought some to swap and test
ship upgrade you find it in your hangar, you choose one of your ship and upgrade it to one of the same or above value (i do it as i said with some Archimedes package for the LTI )


still have to test the Apocalypse Arm Strife Mass Driver (railgun) and the Knightbridge Arm Sword 9-series Longsword


i modified my X-55 Rhino tho the new xml is not at my liking i think i will need to wait till Xamindar update his profile huhu

So let's talk ships then, is my Aurora MR worth holding on to? I am into bounty hunting and combat primarily... in Elite, Evochron, etc. etc. I love combat. Sure I like exploring a little as well, and trading is OK when I need to make some $$$ to upgrade my combat ship.

Maybe the MR stays good for exploring/trading?

My 325A is a good ship, fast and handles great...I just hate the stock cannon...it's slow...powerful...but slow. I hate that I have to use my secondary trigger weapon...

I think the best thing to do would be to use the 325a in some multiplayer matches and earn some REC to buy "virtual" guns for your ship. You can replace that front gun with a size 3 fixed gun.... Or maybe it's a size 2? I'll have to check. If you're using m+kb though, you'll want all gimbaled weapons preferable of the same type so you only have one pip to worry about. You should check your account you might already have some REC.

for the MR maybe put 15$ if you can and to a upgrade to a Mustang Beta (explorer touring)

it should be slightly better for the role you intend, you loose 3 cargo capacity but you gain a Leaper jump engine (for the Aurora the best would be the LX in that case but it's not available anymore )

the 325A is indeed a beast (also why i did choose him ... alongside with the will to hold all the 3 variants of the 300i, specially the 350R )

if you hate slow weapon then swap them for some CF-117 Badger (size 2 like the Omni) tho it would cost 12000 UEC a piece (24k UEC is equivalent to 24$ with the package ratio of 5k UEC 5$ 10K UEC 10$ and 20k UEC 20$)
or if you have some REC rent some and test them so you can see how they do, before the release

oohhh @erocker got ahead now i feel useless ahah!

the 325A front is size 2 (S3 gimbal), the other of the series is 1 (S2 Gimbal) iirc and the pylons are size 3 (missiles) and fixed mount size 2 (wings, occupied by a Omnisky VI from start)
yes Size 1 the 350R sport only a CF-007 Bulldog from start
so then S3 fixed max and S2 (325A) and S1(315P 350R) gimbal

(just checked and edited right now )
usually i fit my 325A with a SW16BR2 Sawbuck instead of a Sledge II mass driver canon

A few screenshots of the 2.0 beta. Just follow the above Flickr link, All taken on 3 monitors with low settings. These are just of one of the towns, I need to do some reading to see what else is available, so if you already have this on the regular side just tell me what you want to see and I'll see if I can do it.

Right now I have my CH Hotas setup I'm still fine tuning...and you're right I need to get into the game and just earn some REC. At this point that's probably the best deal for me and my budget.

At the end of the day...I wanna be able to get into combat, run around, have fun. Have a couple ships...can't afford to go crazy but if I could have something that I could do a little exploring/trading and then a dedicated fighter...with revised weapons, and then play enough to have good skills in this title...I'll be set!

Hopefully revising my controls like I did for Elite and Evochron will pay off here...I also intend to try Mouse+KB as it seems like the FPS transition can happen quite a bit...

Personally I got an Avenger. It seems like a good balance of trading/bounty hunting etc.

for my pure fighter I got a Sabre.

I've looked at the Avenger several times...it is a tempting ship..and iirc I got to try it out at one point in earlier alpha patches. Will look into it more.

i entered the lift in the hangar and it was saying ArcCorp and C47 so i pressed C-4-7 on the panel and got there, not much doable atm except strolling around and driving Greycats that are laying in some places (i wonder if in the PTU there is more )
judging by the lift there is only Stanton III ArcCorp atm

well as Scrizz wrote i was also about to mention the Avenger Stalker (bounty hunter type) tho the difference between your MR and that one is 35$ iirc and also that one has no jump engine, like the Mustang Beta but you get 6 prisoner transport pod, for starter i think the Mustang might be a better option.

i got and tested the Avenger (it's my main SC package) but now it's a 325A

again if you have REC rent those ship and weapons to test them before definitive version hit the shelves

me, i intend to go crazy and take all i can afford before that damn ... i can't wait the PU

and last edit... now that the anniversary sales are gone ... i am a bit sad that i didn't snatch more Archimedes LTI (the last one i have who is not upgraded will stay stock ) or a Warden Harbinger or a Sabre (again, i had one but) or ... ah whatever

drat i checked : the nose slot (300 series) is Gimbal... S2 to 1 and the initial slot is S1-3

WTF? Is that a Delta? What happened to the rocket pods?
Also, good call on the Omni VIs. Those and CF117s have become my faves, the Omni VI for its range and punch, the CF117 for its fire rate (especially in pairs) and surprisingly good accuracy.

Eh, I picked up Elite for $15 during the Thanksgiving sale on Steam.
That, and I'm working on a custom, Arduino-powered HOTAS. Will post pics when it is completed, but it's a slow-moving project.

Well, the type of project I'm working on requires a specific Arduino type so that it functions as a USB bridge. I'm using a Pro Micro.
Look up MMJoy2 and you'll get the idea.

i am crumbling ... when i see the lower model being more expensive than the one i got ... i suspect my Etailer to have done a promo without notifying it ... i mean 158chf (price paid) instead of 196chf (actual price) is already huge, i guess i did pick the right time, when i bought it ... also totally love it it's flawless and works good in SC

Here's me in a Constellation doing another comm relay mission. Servers in the PTU are getting a little better, trying to EVA in the Connie is a buggy mess though.

*It's still processing, so it will probably be a bit before it's in 1440p.
