False alarm. Some issue with my router: I guess it does not like that I visit TPU that often. Uploads worked fine on all other sites, except this one. Problem disappeared after router restart... very strange...

Is there any particular reason why 7z files can't be uploaded but rar and zip files can?

Never thought about adding support for 7zip. Is it worth it? Some novice users might have trouble with unpacking?

I would like to have it. I wanted to upload a file but it was too big in zip but it was less than 2 MB in 7z format. Plus, I use 7zip because it's free unlike WinRAR. If you can add it and if it's not too much of a hassle then ..

You can work around the forum damage by zipping the 7z. Your file will be slightly larger than the 7z, but massively better than just zip.

What if I increased the attachment limit for zip/rar to, say, 5 mb ?

A 7z archive is as easy to unpack as a RAR archive since both need a file archiver to be unpacked and because all popular files archiver support the unpacking of 7z and RAR archives.

seems like every time TPU goes down, my emails stop coming from GN until i go to the threads manually again.

I get this as well, My email subs from threads spontaneously disappear. (From TPU not GN) It's been happening for a few months now. It also effects the alerts tab on the forum itself. Sometimes the issue shows itself in as little as a few days. I just happen to catch it by seeing the thread bumped in the "recents" list.

Same here, Wizz. Every morning, it's part of my routine to bring up TPU, and I "New Tab" every link in my "Alerts" window, and every few days, I check the "Watched Threads" to see how many have fallen off the radar, and I go thru them.

Dunno if anyone said this, but when you edit a post and paste some things (not everything though, but at least quotes) what you paste doesn't not appear. It gets pasted, because if you post it's there, but you don't see it when you edit the post in which you try to paste. Paste a post and it gets pasted. I need to lie down.

EDIT: It only happens to things you copy from posts you write.

My problem is when pasting (either in an edited post, or quick reply at the bottom), it will paste on the line below where my cursor is..... no matter what. Its like there is a linebreak added when I copy and paste...
