Case Modders and their E-Peen.

Call this feed back, or a complaint, I don't really care.
I get annoyed with the case modding thread being filled with people that contribute nothing to the forums in general, and treat TPU like their own personal picture hosting site, for their own E-Peen pleasure.
Many of them only post their build/s and then disappear, until their next build.
Can that particular thread be added to G.N. and TPU be reserved for those that actually contribute in a helpful manner?

I ponder this myself they post billion pics(how many photo angles does a part need) and then bail.

If it was me you would get a before and after. Boom and done.

Should just be using the Case Mod Gallery IMO. For the reasons already said. Why do they get a pass?

I see nothing wrong with posting your builds and not participating in a discussion. They probably are active on other forums or are just introverted. I posted stuff on different forums before. I think it adds to the collection of stuff to look at.

What I don't like is the extreme voting one way or another for no reason but "its not modded" or negative comments.

Agreed to a point, but its also cool to see what they come up with...many of the ones I've seen or even taken a time to look at are sponsored which is a bigger deal than what most of us are doing as the general pubic of TPU. Some of them are kinda neat to see...some of them are meh...some are badass. It's also a nice change of pace from the recent user vs. user bickering I've seen on TPU lately...I would much rather see that toned down rather than this..but passing over those situations and reporting them does the trick for me.

Really, if it bothers you though...keep on scrolling. There really aren't that many to get fussed about imho.

Yeah I can't argue the Case Mod Gallery gets trolled, but such is anything where users get a "choice" someone will always abuse it.

On one hand a lot of case modders post all over the place so that their stuff gets views and they get more hardware for their next modding project. On the other hand I personally think some case mods are pretty cool to look at and so I don't mind if someone dumps their build pics and runs for it.

We may need some better organisation for it - i'm really hungover so i have no idea what we currently have, but i'll put my backing to any well thought out, low effort (from an admin perspective) adjustments to the system.

Suggestions?

I like seeing these builds, what i dont like is the jealous bile that rises inside me when i dream of all those boxes arriving at my house.

That looks like most of the comments in the Case Mod Gallery now. All single post wonders for the most part.

Is this going to happen, or could we at least ban free advertising in the form of sponsorship?
By removing all their advertising, it might stop them spamming forums with their builds.

Would we not then have to remove build logs as well? Many things posted there are sponsored systems from members who don't post much outside of that section either. My two cents is that it really is not worth the effort, and I am sure the traffic these builds bring is appreciated.

Also, thread crapping in such threads will likely result in loss of your posting rights, and is just counter productive to your cause in general!
