Liquid Cooled AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition Now on Sale for $1,489.99

The liquid cooled version of AMD's latest graphics card meant for the "pioneering crowd" of prosumers has been made available over at SabrePC. It sports the exact same GPU you'd find on the air-cooled version, featuring all the same 4096 Stream Processors and 16 GB of HBM2 memory. The only differences are, and you guessed it, the higher cooling capacity afforded by the AIO solution, and the therefore increased TDP from the 300 W of the air-cooled version to a eyebrow-raising 375 W. That increase in TDP must come partially from the employed cooling solution, but also from an (for now, anecdotal) ability for the card to more easily sustain higher clocks, closer to its AMD-rated 1,630 MHz peak core clock.

This closed refrigeration element would be sold at 120 euros. So to sell such for the trapped eggs, the pure ripoff ! For this difference in price which is so doubtful of the shown, add $ 289.99 for 30Hz .I'd rather buy a hay end custom loop myself , and I get a good difference .And do not irritate me in gold coats and lights .
Dnot forget the serious problem of mounting more than one card due to too short pipes ! I think only collectors will buy this GPU version.

Actually, it's not just 30MHz because the air coled one generally doesn't hit 1600MHz consistently. With water, NexusGaming ha shown a stable 1700MHz at all times using modded AiO on top of Vega FE core.

Dont worry you can keep this POS Vega. The mining speed is only 33mh/s for a $999 card. If this is the same for RX Vega, the miners wont be touching this POS card and its high power draw.

That's the point I'm making. Even if cost of TIM per CPU is lets say 5 cents and they could use a really quality one for $1, the increase in price per CPU won't be lets say $2. It'll be $30. Because logic of capitalism. Same thing applies here. The card is $999. AiO costs $120. Final product price, $1499. It's always this way.

Well, unlike Vega FE you atleast get certified drivers with Quadros (and FirePro). That's worth a lot more than the price-difference.

That's quite a markup for a water cooler, but this bad boy can actually maintain it's clocks, hence the reason it sucks down power like it's going out of fashion.

Well, I'm still predicting that tiling isn't working yet which is why power draw is so high and performance so low. Remember, tiling does both, lower power consumption (it's why it's so popular on mobile devices) and quite dramatically increases performance. I mean, imagine Pascal or Maxwell without a functional tiling. You'd essentially have this. So, yeah, I'm also giving it a chance by waiting for RX Vega and am not judging it based on Vega FE (apart from judging that what they have showcased now is not the final state). When RX Vega is out and AMD confirms "this is it", then I'll look at the numbers and call it a day.

I could grab the fastest GTX 1080Ti right now. 800€ is not really an issue. But I said, fuck it, I'll wait if I've waited for so long already. I've rushed to NVIDIA after endlessly wating for R9 Fury X last time and despite some shortcomings it actually turned out to be a perfectly fine and very capable graphic card (the Fury that is).
