With Microsoft giving Windows 10 this year's second major update, causing users (and businesses) to put up with a heavy (>2 GB) download and an hour-long update process, we wonder if the experience is working out well for you.

Perfectly smooth on my old setup. Games seem to have consistent frame times and nothing weird occurring on the os overall.

Update works well. 3 dirty desktop installs and 1 laptop. You need to run disk cleanup afterwards.

You should check the box at the beginning that checks for updates. See below, as this will grab the .19 update.

Overall system seems a bit quicker. The dirty install on the first 2 desktops seemed a bit slower than the past. The 1 desktop I did 10/17 that included the .19 update seemed to go faster.

Perfectly smooth on my home Ryzen system.

Work laptop (ProBook 430 G3 / i5 6200u / 128GB SSD / 16GB DDR4) not so smooth. Had to repair my Office 2016 installation as Outlook refused to send mails and the Mail applet had disappeared from control panel. Also had to reinstall RSAT but I expect that with every big update (Creators, Fall Creators, etc.) now.

I like having the GPU in task manager now

I still have the Windows 10 that came out back in 2015. I had been looking to update to the anniversary update and the other creators update but I've heard there were lots of issues with drivers and stuff breaking. Why would I want to update from this version of windows 10 (which except for my stupid xbox one controller is perfectly stable) to this? Also I'm not sure what to think about this game mode, it seems like an invasion of privacy/spying on me while I'm playing a game.

Why upgrade? Because MS already said pre-anniversary update versions will stop receiving updates. Pretty soon that will apply to Anniversary. I think they said 2 years back is what they will provide updates for.

FWIW, Anniversary Edition became after some further patches a very good OS, so I recommend at least that for now, even if you don't feel like moving on to the Creator's updates.

Update on the installation: disabled Intel RST and removed the UniXonar driver for my sound card, and the update installed flawlessly. Works fine so far.

I have been with this update for some time the only problem I had is forced updated my AMD video drivers to e version that crashes Overwatch. Had to disable driver updates or it will reinstalled it self after I do a downgrade.

i just did mine.. it took about 40 minutes with no problems.. it looks pretty much like it did before the update.. i thought f-ck it get it done and forget about it..

It appears what happened is the install actually failed. When I was updating, I walked away, came back to the PC being off. Turned it on and assumed it worked, but obviously, it did not. I'm watching it go through now.

PEBKAC!!!

EDIT: Failed again.. no clue why.. the installation was really slow past the 70% mark (like a minute or two to 70%) and I had to leave... came back to the PC powered off. No notes/updates, NADA. WTH?!!!

While I did vote perfect, I did actually had one problem where SVP wasn't able to initialize properly (some OpenCL stuff IIRC) and the program told me to re-install graphics driver, which I did, and problem solved.

So my desktop is fine as far as I can tell and downloading the update on my work laptop now.

P.S. I noticed that I can also rebind/remap buttons and triggers for my Xbox One controller with the Xbox Accessories app now. Prior to this, the Configure button was only available if it was with the Xbox One. Elite Controller. This is a really nice touch because I remember giving this suggestion in Feedback Hub.

The install got stuck at 0% first, went in and cleared out all cached and temp stuff and after that it installed just fine.
Not seeing any huge differences to be honest.

I installed it yesterday and I cant tell the difference. I just took a lot of time to finish 1 hour and 16 minutes.
