Waiting for them reviews. If it's too weak of a jump in non-Rey stuff compared to the 1080Ti, I'm gonna go with the 10Ti.

skipping, even tough I need a gpu right now and have 1000$+ for 4K, but I will buy either used or even new gtx 1080 ti and save couple of hundreds $, because this RTX 20xx - the GigaRayz, aka "we will charge whatever we like" generation will be obsoleted by any next release - either amd will offer its 7nm performance/price so good that this 20xx will be a joke.... or nvidia will obsolete it by 7nm die shrink or different gen that will offer x5-x10 in GigaRays performance (and only then we can start to look at RayTracing as usable benefit)

Skipping. I just got a Vega 64 off of Ebay for half of MSRP. At 1920x1200, I'm set for the next 5 years.

I'll probably wait and grab a 1440144 freesync monitor at some point, then re-evaluate GPUs once 7nm hits, or once AMD releases a volta/turing/whatever competitor in 2019.

I already have a GTX 1070 (well, two, but they're not in SLI). Next "upgrade" will probably involve an SLI bridge... cause that's free. After that... probably not until a midrange card comes along that significantly improves performance from what I have already.

I was upset when they eliminated SLI capabilities on the lower priced 1060 cards when they were introduced. I felt that they were effectively "cock-blocking" poor man's SLI performance with that move.
You had to spring for at least a pair of 1070 series cards if you wanted SLI goodness. (you have to pay more to play more)
Now, they've done it again! This time, the lofty 2070 series cards are hobbled as to SLI capabilities and to SLI game, it has to be a pair of 2080 series cards!

This is a money-grab, plain and simple.

Thinking about it, I decided to spend a little cash on some AMD goodness. I have a Vega 56 and a Vega 64 headed my way. (just to see if I like them) They both may end up with matching brother cards in the future, we'll see. AMD's bound to release something before too long and I'll be checking it out for sure.

If I buy into NVIDIA's 20 series cards, it's gonna have to be one hell of a deal for me to jump, and it will have to be SLI enabled.

Video game developers will be pushed to use Ray Tracing in their games from Nvidia, and if they think it will improve and become a necessity for their titles, those who do not have an RTX card will not fully enjoy their games. So you will enjoy half of it.

In my opinion who is against can go back and play 16 bit games and live under a rock.
