Hi guys , so today i was digging in my ASUS H61M-E's BIOS for the CPU voltage control , but i couldn't find it , do you guys know how where can i find it ? does my board even have voltage control ? i just wanted to decrease my CPU voltage a little bit.
btw my BIOS version is 601.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
H61 does not overclock IIRC... so likely no voltage options. That board is bottom of the barrel budget 3-phase VRM w/o heatsinks too so... makes sense it doesn't have those options.

You can try flashing to the latest version to see if it miraculously shows up, but I doubt it. You also have a locked CPU so at best you could lock all cores to boost...

No i just wanted to lower my voltage to improve CPU temperature.

I'll consider doing that.

What temperature is it? So long as it is under 90C during stress testing, its within its normal operating range. :)

I know. And we told you there already the temps are fine, did we not?

Lower is better, I suppose, but... this could all be in that thread since its the same subject. ;)

Anyway, its that board/BIOS which is limiting you. Try updating the firmware and see if it adds it, otherwise, I highly doubt it does.

Soldering iron, solder, multimeter, a few small gauge wires, some resistors(or better yet a 10K Ω potentiometer) and a little know how. :D

But yeah. What's the point? You're fine as is. Nothing to gain whatsoever.

Just flashed my BIOS to the latest version (1303) , same thing....... i guess i'll have to keep it like this , thanks guys for helping;)

Look into using Throttlestop to lower voltages it works for lots of people wanting to undervolt
I just don't like to use it , thanks anyway.

I'm curious...why not?
I have no issues with it , i just hate all those tweaking programs , i don't like how they apply the settings on the startup or however they apply it.

What is the issue with how it applies specifically? Are you able to give reasons why you dont like that? I ask as the reasons may not be a worry/concern as you may think. Perhaps if explained those applications can be an option.

Use CPU-Z to find out what your actually running for voltage. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

next if you are running 1.9V for Vcore it is extremely high and needs to be turned down. you will need a stress test program and i recommend using 2 of them. the 1st is Prime95 : http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=205 and the 2nd is Intel Burn Test : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums...-IntelBurnTest-The-new-stress-testing-program

also download a temp monitoring program. I like either hardware monitor from CPUID or Open Hardware monitor, just google it.

these will let you know what your CPU is running at for a temp. to get the lowest stable CPU voltage you need to enter the Bios and lower the Vcore and test each time for instability. Once you become unstable ( unable to run Prime for 2 hours or ITB for 20 run under max stress) Up the voltage 2 steps and retest. If found to be unstable up it by 1 step increments and retest each time till you can run both programs as mentioned above.

That's great. There are two concerns with regard to heat in PC componentry:

1. Does it get so hot that it affects performance through throttling ? The answer here is no.

2. Does it get so hot that, over time, the ability of the silcon to electrically "insulate" the individual circuit traces becomes somthing to worry about. Even the most anal among us, generally accepts 80C as "being safe for 10 years".

3. You don't get bonus points for being below those levels.
