That board does look killer and has some excellent features and performance but 4 SATA ports really? Some people may not mind but 6 or even 8 would have been preferable.

that was my only concern ... as i have 2: 3.5" and 4: 2.5" ... it feel a bit weird to see that little amount of port on a mobo that is not a mATX or a mITX
ok there is 2 NVMe/SATA m.2 port ... but even tho my own mobo has also 2 of them (alongside the 8 sata ) i don't use ist since the adequate SSD for them is not in my budget range ...
alright someone will go "you can add port using addon cards for PCIeX and M.2 slot" ... but i'd rather not ... impractical and unaesthetic (well .. )

and that was a 220'ish $ mobo

Exactly, the cost of some of the components is real for X570 and I guess they wanted to justify the difference between it and their higher tiered "Godlike" by limiting what a lot of power users have in their system already.

although most X570 are priced like their X470 equivalent where i am ... tho i will double check the number of SATA port more closely ... i don't want to end into a 4 port 6 drives situation xD

similarly priced to my actual mobo :

at last that one has 6 SATA port

8 port but 4 idiotically placed (and a little more expensive )


higher price 6 port and colour scheme fitting me ... although the first Aorus will be a better choice for me i guess

I understand totally, usually there is little difference between boards in terms of performance so it comes down to looks and particulars like SATA or NVME or networking. This board is killer because of the memory speeds it produces and the great way the chipset cooling has been designed.

Since some topics have been raised about quality on reddit too, that integrated audio sounds only good, as far as the system is not loaded. If you load cpu and gpu, the sound quality gets much worse.
So do you test them under load? Or is there a possibility to do this?

Another question would be, if you can test the digital output (toslink) quality also? Or is the digital audio not affected by such problems?

This will always happen with a fat GPU under full load. The only answer is to look into & buy an external solution, which unless you buy something really bad without any research is going to be superior to any motherboard audio.

If you answered this on my post above, then we are already talking about external DAC. But that has to be fed somehow anyways, so this is why the quality of the toslink out would be interesting.
