Hi there! Managed to SLI 2x970 (with SLI bridge) on Windows 10 2019 LTSC, driver ver. 417.71.
As I know F1 2018 and 2019 is SLI supported, but unfortunately I've got lower fps in SLI mode (with 99% usage on the 1st card, and about 70% on 2nd one) .
Also benchmarked Unigine Heaven 4.0 with extreme preset on 1080p and got around 100fps/2500 pts, GPU scaling while benchmarking was 95-99% on both cards.
Any thoughts on this? Maybe this is low wattage PSU problem? Maybe I should try 3xx drivers or even Win7 install?

Thank you in advance!

P.S: my rig is i7 2600, Z68 motherboard (pcie 2.0 x16/2.0 x4), 520w PSU.
What brand and model is your PSU? I ran GTX 970 SLI (official, no hacks) with a Super Flower Golden Green 500W PSU few years ago.

Well, I activated the problem now is that I do not see that the GPU load is shared ... how does it work? I only see that GPU1 has all the load

What game is that? Maybe there isn't a SLI profile for it.

At least some games doesn't support Crossfire (I have R9 290 Crossfire) and then the second card is just idling.

e: Should've had read the name of the attached file..

The Game is The Hunter Call of the Wild, and indeed not support SLI profile.
Testing with other games and it's working, A lot of thanks to all those people that work everyday for "nothing". Thank a LOT Guys... By the way, i am from CUBA

anyone know if this still works? got myself 2 gtx 680's but i got a server motherboard with x58 chipset but no certification. got windows 10 on it right now but decided i wil toss windows 8.1 on it after not being able to find a .sys file to patch
- do i just also need to install the latest custom driver in the post for this or would the latest game ready drivers work?

You would need to use 430.86.

okay so i've gotten the files needed to mod and got a hex editor open. got offsets for 430.86 but i've got no idea what to do now.
i tried searching for the offset but the hex editor said that no pattern was found. i did try to find the offsets using the post you said for the older driver and it did find the line. but then again no idea what to do.
i've messed alot of file modding and such but hex editing is new for me

It's not that you have to search for any pattern here.
Go to address 0027E86D (the column you see at the very left of your editor with a light blue background) and replace 84 with C7 and so on.

found the line reqeusted but opun checking it seems that the value 84 is not even present on that line |(it is one line down tho) but the rest of the original offsets in the file is not present here. i think i'm doing it way wrong haha
sorry if i sound dumb

Yes, you're doing it right, but it seems you're not modifying a version 430.86 driver.
Make sure you have that version installed and then follow the instructions closely, particularly the part about finding the correct driver file.

alright. i thought i installed 430.86. but maybe windows update screwed with it. i'll toss DDU over it and install and patch the drivers while offline to see if it continues

reinstalled the driver offline. and copy pasted the file from system32/drivers (according to device manager the file is located at that spot) and i opened hex editor and it resulted into the same layout. could you perhaps link me the correct driver needed incase somehow i got the wrong drivers?

Why are you using Win7/8 drivers, according to the photo? The patch only works on Win 10 x64
EDIT: Oh, I see in your first post, you reverted to 8.1.
There are older versions of this patch for Win 7/8 together with 3xx nVidia drivers, but going forward, this patch is only for Win 10.

See this post for Win 7/8:

so ok
i got windows 10 installed used DDU to remove the gpu driver then removed internet and proceeded to install the correct driver for windows 10. found the values and edited it and placed the resulted file inside the differentSLI folder and watched the video to see what i had to edit. turns out the video and the actual install.bat dont have the same file. so i could not edit the bat. so i just tried to run it i saw no errors ect it said it signed it with the right time stamp ect and told me to reboot. so i shutdown installed the sli bridge and booted but still no sli tab inside the control panel

just checked original file path. the original file (i copy pasted it without removing the old file from its win32 location) is has not been replaced so indeed the installer failed.
can i manually sign the file and then proceed to use a second pc to place the file in the required path using a hdd caddy?

If you don't have the same BAT then you're not using 1.7.1
You need to use 1.7.1 and follow the instructions, including replacing the paths in the BAT with your actual driver location.
After that, running the BAT in safe mode will correctly install the modified driver as well as the certificate.

oh wait yeah,.. facepalm.
its tool 1.4
i thought i had the latest version as i clicked download latest from the first post
wil update on this when i get home

got it to work!
after installing in safe mode with networking and a reboot the promp sli capable machine message popped up and i enabled it.
i've only tested fallout so far and max settings locked 60 fps so good so far. but for some reason i noticed my 2nd gpu having higher usage. but gpu1 has the screen connected. altho the 2nd gpu is a more powerfull version of the 680. perhaps i should put my display on that gpu instead

Conglaturation !

It's well possible that your second card shows higher GPU usage than the first one, that's because 'bus usage' also counts towards this figure and usually the second card runs over a slower PCIe bus. So it's actually beneficial to put the faster card in the second slot to compensate for that.
As long as the temps on both cards are OK, that is.

Also it's important to connect all your displays to the same card (the one which runs cooler), otherwise a lot of PCIe bandwidth needs to be wasted for copying over the other card's desktop space.

both gpus use 16x pcie connections ^^ yay server boards
i wish i could mode my 3 slot gpu to the top tho and the blower style card down but i cant due pcie slots being too close.
also in games like far cry 5. they dont start because they detect test mode being on so anti cheat asks me t disable that. any tips opun bypassing that?
anyways gta 5 performance is shocking. i kinda yolod it and allocated over 4.7gb of vram of graphics settings and still having a above 40 fps experience.
gtx 680's are beasts!~ imagine 2 690's haha
well imma go and make custom game profiles for the non supported games.
thank you ^^

There is no easy method to do that unfortunately. Some members seem to have found a way, but I haven't tried it.

Version 1.6 is for driver 376.60
Can't you just use driver 388.71 with your cards, together with patch 1.7.1 ?

How should we know?
You didn't supply any information at all.
Cards? OS? Which instructions you were using, etc...

Hi,
I know that you stopped support of Win 7, but can you describe or point to some info about the general principle of patching of that .dll which can be applied to any OS?
Search for some code sequence? Checksum?
If you elaborate it will be possible to patch any new version of NVidia drivers.

Basically reverse engineering the driver on that OS, tracing the right functions and bypassing their calls.
It's not as simple as just matching/replacing fixed patterns.

Got it. I just don't believe that NV team each time redesigns totally that part(s) of driver which calls for motherboard version.
From the other hand, I thought about permanent fix for good and all future versions and OS's from the side of MoBo and to mod the BIOS to show right version that NV driver will accept as SLI ready.
Just name/version and nothing more.
For instance, I have ASUS P8Z77 V-LX, and if I'll change it to ASUS P8Z77 V-LK , that stupid check will be fooled.
And of course, I don't mean it's easy and can be recommended to the wide audience.
