EIZO has announced its flagship monitor, called the Foris Nova, way back in October last year. However, it only was available to the Japanese consumers, and it was a limited run of only 500 units. Today, EIZO announced that it is going to expand the availability of its Foris Nova display to the global market, with more units available and coming. The Chinese market will get the first wave of units and the rest of the world is supposed to follow. Just as a reminder, the Foris Nova is a 21.6-inch 4K OLED display with very interesting characteristics such as 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 0.4 ms response time. You can check out the full specifications here.

200ppi? You need that density if you look at it as close as you look at your phone.

That monitor on the picture is quite certainly not a 21" one. Or the guy is photoshopped, whichever.

I wish my monitor had a higher ppi so I could see those slippers in more detail.

He is the Charlie Sheen of the Shire. That is why they need the pixel density -- it is like a 32" display for them.

Well, it's both among the best if you need to do some HDR work (I'm not sure about the max brightnes - might be enough, might not) and a limited edition, in the sense it has a small TAM. And you can't buy a similar LCD for less then €2,000. So yeah, expensive, but it could have been worse.

Yea without competition they can charge whatever they want.
Not sure about the peak brightness, product page says it's 330cd/m² but the datasheet claims it goes up to an insane 4000cd/m² value...

LG’s 48 inch OLED is much better than this. Eizo is another example of overpriced PC monitors.

Probably a typo. 400cd/sqm is more likely, 4,000 will kill OLED rather quickly. Hell, even LCD has trouble doing 4,000.

I really hope OLED monitors pick up soon.. is burn-in the main hurdle? How hard would it be for OLED friendly dynamic UI?

Technically, it's dead simple. It's users that are reluctant to their UI elements moving around all the time that are the problem.

Is that really it? Pure stubbornness?
I could deal with floating relatively in place color shifting bubbles. Or a watery wavy taskbar and boarders while everything within a window remains the same as before. Or even scheduled panel maintenance, could do it the same time everyday or something.

I think he's saying this in jest... (I lol'd at least :D) but on a more serious note. Think about games, a Civilization play session. How would you like it if your UI jumped from top to bottom of screen every 15-30 odd minutes? Or if it moved a pixel every few seconds? I'd go crazy...

Or Word. Ribbons that jump all over the place... :p

Going from top to bottom sounds a little dramatic. Maybe put all the Word ribbons in an expandable bubble kinda like they function now by hiding.
Plz for the love of quarantine I want a not so over the top expensive OLED monitor, 1440p is very acceptable.
