NVIDIA made the product page of the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card active on its website. The card is shown starting at USD $329, and NVIDIA confirmed some basic specs. The RTX 3060 is endowed with 3,584 CUDA cores, and comes with GPU frequency of 1.32 GHz, and maximum GPU Boost frequency of 1.78 GHz. It is confirmed to feature 12 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface. The card's typical board power is confirmed to be 170 W, with the reference card making do with a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The RTX 3060 should be available from February 25.

The card won't launch cheap for sure. The MSRP that Nvidia provides is no longer relevant.

Anyway its clear that Samsung 8nm is not good for high clockspeed considering that even the low mid end card also comes with a very modest boost clockspeed. I wonder how well will this compete against the Navi 22 cards.

It's pointless to keep churning out new models of GPU's all the time they will just be soaked up by the miners. Given the chronic shortage of everything including 1050Ti's, 1650's, RX5500, etc, and with there not being any 2050, I'm surprised nVidia haven't done the obvious and released a GTX 3050 with performance between a 1650S and 2060 but deliberately give it only 4GB VRAM to make them intentionally useless for Etherium thus at least giving 1080p gamers something to play with (vs nothing at all). Once Mining Bubble 2.0 has burst, then you can think about introducing high VRAM cards and actually have them remain in stock for gamers...

It is pointless from your standpoint I think for NV it's not pointless when the GPUs are disappearing from shelves and they earn money. If they get more 3060 out than 3080, I assume NV will definitely be aiming for this, loads of money coming towards NV if whoever wants the card will buy it. Miners, scalpers, gamers, whoever.

329$ my assss, shops are listing them at double or more, three people might get that price direct from Nvidia for 2 seconds but no one else.

It's not right, it's not all on Nvidia but it's not all on AIB and shops either.

At this point, I may simply settle for a GPU like this if I can find one at or very near the MSRP price. I'd rather get a GPU that's near the performance increase I'm looking for over entrusting my 980Ti to keep working with out dying anytime soon.

Though, I have little faith in Nvidia and AMD right now in terms of how they're handling all of this. I feel like we (every day consumers) are getting the shaft.

Jensen Huang: We have officially ran out of 3080s and 3070s.
Board Member - McCaffery: Don't forget the 3060 Ti, we're out of those as well.
Huang: ....Yes. Well, we are on the verge of our latest GPU. I give you, the GTX 3060!
(resounding applause from around the conference room)
Board Member - Stevens: We made the best revenue from selling majority of our previous lines to "performance testers". Are we slated to run the same gambit on this lot?
Board Member - Hudson: "Performance testers"?
Stevens: We've been over this. There's a lot of negative publicity tied to crypto farming with GPUs. So to avoid mincing of words we....well, damn it. Read the packet in front of you.
Huang: Yes, "performance testers" will be sold the vast majority of GPUs as we continue to inform the public that we are working diligently to ramp up production on GPUs all while we let them believe the issue is caused by supply and demand issues created by the current global covid crisis. Keep that phrase in people's mind and they won't look anywhere else. Remember everyone, "global covid crisis" is the main culprit to our "supply shortage".
(a thundering laughter erupts from the board members and you here a few members repeat "supply shortage" between laughs)
Haung: Calm down....calm down. MSRP is $329.
(stifled laughs trickle across the members of the board)
Haung: We keep the MSRP prices down while we know the "supply shortage" will cause our AIB partners to mark up GPUs by 50% or more to help sell this "supply shortage" we're suffering. As you can see the circle we've created:
One - limit our product on our end.
Two - sell majority of inventory to "performance testers"
Three - ensure folks we are doing all we can to overcome the "supply shortage" from the "global covid crisis" and we are ramping up production
Four - List a low MSRP that we know cannot be met due to "supply shortage" and AIB partners will have to post higher prices.
Five - Finger pointing at us will be limited as most folks will direct their attention to AIB, scalpers and crypt...."performance testers".
Six - When asked about our production, we go back to step three and repeat ad nauseam.

The RTX 3060 should be available from February 25...

Just checked today. Lowest preorder retail price I could find in Germany 569€ ($700) for basic Palit model and quoted prices go up to €699 atm. Why releasing mainstream xx60 GPU in this environment at all? Sell it directly to miners and don't even bother with DIY market. You only make us angrier and angrier.

Maybe 1% of the dies will go to FEs to cover up the MSRP marketing bs.

No, that's why AIB prices are skyrocketing. Retailers will be able to sell every single one of them for 800 bucks to miners without worrying about competing with Nvidia's FE edition at MSRP.
All GPU market is totally FU atm.

I still can't fathom how Nvidia let this card ship with 12gb of memory. I guess making it cheaper with 6gb would have been too enticing for miners...
