Why would you want to go back to W7? You're just making problems for yourself. Even W10 has been superceded by W11 and won't be supported after 2025.

Agree, Win7 is already out of support.

I understand as I remember how people did stick with WinXP for years even after the release of Win7 now Win7 is in the same situation for many.

for some reason when going from a clean install of windows 10 i get a blue screen saying "missing thread exception."?

A quick google search suggests that it could be driver related.

The nv in that file sounds like it's GPU driver related.

In which situation the bluescreen appears? I'd install any other drivers before installing GPU drivers (if you haven't done so).

actually it bluescreened when i saw in device manager that it installed the generic microsoft gtx titan drivers.. i will try and update the AMD's first though..

also i think i have been focusing on the gtx too much to where i forgot the amd drivers first lol.. the actual DISPLAY...

I'd still try with just the Titan as drivers from both can interfere with each other. Personally I don't see any reason to keep that 270X with it because it's slower.

Get Display Driver Uninstaller from the net, get the last Radeon Pro for Enterprise driver that works in Windows 7 and Windows 10 for the R 7/9 270/X, get the last nv gpu driver that works on the titan. Get latest motherboard chipset drivers from amd or intel. Disconnect from the internet by pulling the ethernet cable or disable wifi. Run Display driver uninstaller 4 times to remove all AMD and nvidia related drivers shut down and pull the titan out of the case. Boot up and install the latest motherboard chipset driver. Shut down, pull the Radeon Card from the case. Put the titan in the same slot the Radeon was in. Start up, install the nvidia driver, keep the Radeon for troubleshooting out of the case.

@qubit, @Maenad I am currently using a XFX R7 250X GHOST in a Ryzen 7 5800 rig, boots up perfectly under uefi on VGA lol

I think i am going to wait until tomorrow when i get my cpu for my brand new motherboard (An X99 Motherboard) to try and test them out again...
I HAD it working in win7 but i will try tomorrow when i have a MUCH newer board to use..

I THINK it is working now
But I'm really paranoid right now about being on the internet because i do not want the automatic updates in windows 10 to crash lol

I have it working in device manager and i have it showing up in GPUZ..

What i did was i used my K20 tesla i had and updated it/ removed it from the motherboard and placed the titan in the same place..

and now no problems??

But when i used JUST the titan it was artifacting and would crash almost immediately after update..????

SO, with that said, should i even benchmark it and See if it is actually working??

Now the ONLY thing that is not working is nvidia control panel becuause i want to have it... but like the old saying goes if it work DON'T FIX IT!! lol

I always prefer to download the complete, recommended driver direct from Nvidia, run DDU in safe mode to get rid of any automatically downloaded components that the OS has decided to use from its driver store or Windows update, and then disconnect from the network to run the Nvidia installer whilst offline to ensure that it's the only driver being installed.

Not usually necessary, but definitely recommended when you suspect you have driver conflicts.

I would also suggest stress-testing the GPU once you have it up and running with a working driver. The seller saying it only works in windows 7 is extremely suspicious and needing to BIOS flash before something works is another red flag!

I'd do some benchmarking as having it just a display adapter is kinda pointless.

oh ok, but what happens if i uninstall the current driver and i am back to a black screen after installing the latest drivers i'm all the way back to square one?
that's what i am afraid of lol

but i will stress test first and if it even performs well or not i will definitely update the drivers..

The Nvidia control panel is separate to the drivers. Quite often, Windows Update will install an Nvidia driver automatically but you will need to go to the store to get the control panel.

As mentioned, I am not a fan of doing things this way, but if you have a working Nvidia driver installed with no control panel, you can download the control panel by itself from the Windows Store.

I know back then you could select items you wanted installed back in the day for NV, I know ATi/AMD still does at least in 2016

Because i read ALL over the internet that it would have to be at least a 4-6 gb card to mine Ethereum? (i think)
Should i get another working one or should i get a 1650 for gaming/ mining??
