ok,i guess i am accepting the fact that it does not work properly..
What made you to come to this conclusion?
Maybe now is the time to consider a BIOS flash if have not already done so.
How about reverting to 399.24 drivers? How did that work out?

Does ethereum mining require CUDA, and then what version of CUDA driver do you need for your GTX Titan?
(The GTX Titan has compute capability 3.5)

ok,i guess i am accepting the fact that it does not work properly..
Because i read ALL over the internet that it would have to be at least a 4-6 gb card to mine Ethereum? (i think)
Should i get another working one or should i get a 1650 for gaming/ mining??
Thanks Again Guys!

or what about two gtx 980's in SLI???
By the way, my board is an X99 and is capable of four way SLI.. :D
I found this too:

Thank You For Your Service Too!
I Live In Texas Too..
God Bless Texas!
SLI is a technology that is no longer supported by Nvidia for ther past year or more.

And DX 12 game needs the developer to implement multi GPU to take advantage of multiple GPUs.

And DX 11 and under game requires Nvidia to develop and maintain SLI support in their drivers, but as I said Nvidia dropped SLI support a while ago. The only reason to do SLI at this point is if you were only using a computer to play games that have SLI driver support and even then that's a poor reason to run SLI.

You're better off getting a more recent GPU to play games over running a SLI or Crossfire build with older cards.

What made you to come to this conclusion?
Maybe now is the time to consider a BIOS flash if have not already done so.
How about reverting to 399.24 drivers? How did that work out?

Does ethereum mining require CUDA, and then what version of CUDA driver do you need for your GTX Titan?
Well, i came to that conclusion because it has some artifacting but when i use the AMD R9 270X and install the drivers for the card (the titan) it shows BSOD and says system file nvlddm.sys (or something like that) failed... :'/

Which one?
what do you mean?
It's an AMD card if that's what your wondering :)

Yes it requires CUDA.. version 11? (i think the latest)

Which one?

Ok,
It's doing weird things again..
I go to install the latest titan drivers and upon installing it freezes but before i do that it shows up still in device manager and GPU-Z... what am i else to do without getting rid of it because I DON'T want to..
I firmly believe i can get this properly working and have soo much confidence! :/
Does it need a re-flow by a professional?
a certain driver?
FLASHING!????

Please help!

Thanks Again.

People are confused about the nvidia control panel issue

1. The old drivers included it
2. DCH drivers for some time did not include it
3. Nvidia decided to change to DCH drivers only - requiring users to seperately install the control panel
4. Soon after, the DCH drivers included the new control panel anyway

I've never had to install the CP manually. It's included in the latest drivers.

As for the GPU... not everything is fixable. And if your test system is a mess, you cant rely on any results you get.
Test the GPU's in a reliable stable system

Get your nvidia drivers from here, they're the non-dch version. Let us know if you have issues with this one. Do a custom install and don't install geforce experience. Also uninstall your radeon drivers.

the non DCH drivers are older and many versions behind - it's not worth recommending them to people

ok will do,
Thank you!

Send for repair or toss it

It's easier to say toss it than to try and really get it fixed..
Especially when i make less than 1,000/month including living costs..
Thanks though.

There comes a point when there is no guaranteed fixes, only possible fixes - and they cost money that could be saved up towards a working product or repairing a different device with higher odds of success.
(This is why advice usually starts with software fixes, that only cost time and not money4)

Are you able to replace all the VRM and VRAM thermal pads? The entire heatsink, if you find out its warped? Resolder any components? Replace BIOS chips?
You list the potential fixes, rule out any you cant afford or justify due to low odds of sucess and when the list is empty - bin it. (Or at least, store it for spare parts as a dead card)

Man, I gotta ask-
What's the deal with all the ancient hardware? Like, it seems like you are deliberately targeting things a decade old. Now, I get the budgetary issue, but, you could be targeting MUCH newer components even still.
Especially when- (part 2) you are buying VERY suspect old parts. A 9 year old Titan that the seller told you in advance won't boot? Whats the thinking on that? He basically told it is 'For parts; not working".

plus i got it working in windows 7 and am afraid it won't in windows 10.. to be honest.
Hello, just another suggestion, not GPU related. You can always download and install Open Shell on Windows 10 when you miss that Windows 7 feeling. Just takes a few minutes of tweaking and then you're good to go. I did the exact same thing, as my i5-10400F would only run either Windows 10 or Windows 11, but not Windows 7. Take care!
