If you dont use insane amounts of paste, you'll never have a problem.
It looks like its going to be super easy to just wipe it out with a cotton bud, called a Q-tip by people who don't drink tea.

Use the spread method, and you'll be problem free.

That's what i'm wondering, will coolers use it to get a perfect fit on the CPU?
Will we get AIO's and air coolers that use that to line up exactly perfect over the CCX's?

Will we just fill it with RGB lights?

) that is going to fill that gap with thermal pads... thinking... "it would be nice to transfer heat from sides of IHS and a little from substrate... no harm..."
...and after a few months+ the "known" oil spreads around and inside the LGA socket...

Now that would be a PITA!

There are no resistors on CPU/GPU, but if there are, it's extremely very rare. I have never seen resistors on CPU/GPU, All are Capacitors.

There is an art to getting every single bit of thermal paste removed regardless of package type. Use a brand new medium size paint brush with Isopropyl. After cleaning the bulk of the thermal paste in the normal way, dip the paint brush in Isopropyl & rub & move the remaining thermal paste with card in the upside-down position. The thermal paste will fall towards the brush then to the floor. Works with LM too

Gravity is your best friend here & it works here every time without failure.

Don't use excess paste and it'll be fine. Intel chips are similar except the IHS doesn't looks made by an edgy teenager.
