The first Control was cool because it was a poster child for RT.

What has the second title going for it, if it's going to cater to both PC and consoles?
The first Control was cool because it had a unique and highly captivating lore and atmosphere. If the second one can elevate it to the next level, I'm game. :)

Quantum break references appear in Control but not very clearly, like for Alan Wake.
The problem is the Microsoft cancer who owns the rights.

For me, Quantum Break is the best Remedy's (developed) title.
Alan Wake, Control, Max Payne were masterpieces but Quantum Break was a step ahead in everything.
Cast, story, graphics (GI before RT era), cut scenes. A true gem.

Hi,
Sure control 2 will be way more inclusive, we need this in blood soaked violence these days :rockout:

totally subjective.
In my opinion it was one of the best game I've ever played.
That's it and the way I'd put it when arguing about the game.

Those putting down opinions that clash with their own should start with every single platform allowing to rate their products and realize that Control got mixed user reviews from the start.

You have an uphill battle trying to convince everyone this is a good game let alone a masterpiece.

I really didn't appreciate the way enemies could teleport in en mass, practically anywhere, except where the rest of the people were (i.e. the evacuation zone in the 1st level). In some areas it's guaranteed enemies will teleport in -- regardless of how many times you've cleared an area. Considering all the enemies are mutations(?) of existing Control personnel there must have been thousands of people working at the Old House.
It was still an entertaining game though, despite this fault.

 Yeh, I love the whole 'subjective' argument thing when it comes up. In 1982, E.T. on the Atari was fantastic...subjectively....to one small kid somewhere who never got out much. In reality ...

The first one was a steamy pile of shit. No wonder you could get it for free just by dismissing a cookies notice. I played it for free and I felt robbed.
It sounds like you didn't find a single thing to like about the game which makes me wonder what games you actually like...:fear:

This is one those games I've heard of a thousand times but still have not a slightest clue what it's about.
Then commenting here was well worth it, I'm sure.

I agree. The other thing I didn't like is that
the maze in the end isn't replayable.
Great game, though.

I had a dopey grin on my face the entire time I was playing that stage. Control was one of the most engaging games I've played in a long while but then again I'm a sucker for a good psychological, cosmic horror theme. Really looking forward to the sequel.

You can discuss anything you like, or dislike, but why comment on something that you yourself said that you have no clue about?

More of a show of how poorly marketed it was. I noticed it everywhere. Watched technical videos about it but never learned a single aspect of the story or even a name. Something has to stick besides the title and characters hair color. Idk if they needed to reveal more in the trailers or what but I'm surprised there's a sequel.

But because I neither like or dislike I should never comment on a subject...sheeesh

There's plenty of info on the game's Steam store page, including descriptions, screenshots and trailers (that actually do reveal more than the main character's hair colour). The fact that you don't care isn't the game's fault.

I didn't say that. What I'm saying is that commenting on something that you know absolutely nothing about gives you the appearance of a comment hunter. Just like me going to a football (soccer) forum and commenting "Who the F is Arsenal?"

Where else would you want to find out?
All the commercials and marketing videos. But all I got was red hair and floating objects in an office building. Really shouldn't have to hit the store page for a game that was marketed as much as it was. The game may be decent or bad, don't really care, since the marketing was very bad.

Has any commercial video of any game given more info than that?

Judging a game by what you see about it on TV. Very mature indeed!

You should seriously give it a shot if you have the opportunity, it's a really well put together game and a serious feather in Remedy's cap. The combat is exciting and feels solid especially when you get comfortable with all the different fighting mechanics, and the environment is downright breathtaking. It's one of those games that really makes you go "Damn I'm glad I play on PC". Though I agree it was marketed like garbage, one of those "It's a AAA game! It has raytracing!" marketing campaigns and that was about it.

Story in a nutshell is girl mysteriously winds up at the doorstep of even more mysterious govt. building, learns the situation inside is absolutely fucked, supernatural beings give you a big ass gun and put you in charge of making sure they meet their yearly murder quota, hilarity ensues. Definitely worth 30 minutes of your time just to see if you enjoy it, it's pretty story/lore heavy though so be warned.

It was merely an explanation of them pounding the marketing for the game but not really explaining the game at all in the marketing to get me engaged. Therefore I have heard of the game a lot yet know very little. It's about marketing. I'm not going to go out of my way to interest myself in a game when the marketing should've done a much better job at that.

This is what I've learned from the game ads I've recently seen on Youtube:
  • Call of Duty something: a dude jumps out of a helicopter and shoots other dudes.
  • Far Cry 6: a dude shoots stuff in a tropical environment.
  • God of War Ragnarök: A dude throws an axe, and rides a husky sledge while being attacked by a shape-shifting woman.
  • The Elder Scrolls Online something: lots of colorful environments.
  • World of Warcraft something: lots of colorful environments and flying around.
I don't know how you expected to learn more about Control purely from its marketing.

God of War tells me more about the game just within the title than all of control ever did in any commercial. Call of duty is clearly about war. The Elder Scrolls must be about some old scrolls. WoW must be a lot of war lol. Far Cry, I didn't see any crying. Control, who tf has any idea?
