I think I like Raijintek, despite never having actually bought any of it. They remind me of Lian-Li 20 years ago - starting off with niche-market aluminium cases that offer something different, and slowly expanding their portfolio into more products that fit cnc-milling. They seem to be no-nonsense, reasonably-priced stuff that's not badly made.

The connector isn't typical so I ended up mistakenly putting it the wrong way round.

Damn they used an odd connector: 3 pin ARGB but a 4 pin JST cable
I can see how that can be pushed onto a 4 pin 12V RGB header and go bang.

The alphacool's i've got here use a 3 pin JST which is secure like this 4 pin, but you can't slide it onto a 12v header at least

This just makes no sense as it's the worst of each connector, it's possible to connect to the wrong connectors and install backwards

I think you have an adblocker messing up your syndicate links. It looks fine for the rest of us and parses correctly.

IMO the only way ambiguity could be removed would be to change the wording from "costs" to "is available from".

ARGB is a proprietary nightmare that hits the unholy trifecta of no standard physical interfaces, no standard software interfaces, and no standard electrical interfaces. Anyone using ARGB and expecting it to be anything other than a compromise of bad software, shit cables, and potential incompatiblities needs to suffer more ARGB until they learn their lesson

You and me both, buddy. ARGB has been around long enough that's it's almost inexcusable how bad the situation still is. The PC DIY/boutique market is where standardisation isn't just nice to have, it's one of the primary reasons for why the PC DIY market still exists. If everything was proprietary the market segment would simply cease to exist, almost overnight...

I've finally got my own systems ARGB under control, but it's required converters, adaptors (some home made) and openRGB

My most reliable lightingsystem has 90% of its lighting controlled by a hardware controller with an IR remote, but of course that can't work on motherboards or RAM

I'm mad at companies taking shortcuts with ARGB because i've got fans with dead lighting from official connectors, and i've been given and sold second hand ones dead from mystery causes.
When official instructions skip things and have setups like this:

It's a wonder companies don't get sued for negligence, it's so easy for dumbass ideas like this reviewed waterblock and the image above to blow up themselves, other hardware, or start a fire
Coolermaster 3 pack of fans, manual tells you to connect them in series to each other and forgets to mention the final one at all - but end users are going to see 3 fans, 3 connectors and plug em all in.

Just like giving you a custom 4 wire RGB cable that goes bang if you connect it to a 4 pin header -.-

Clearly shows that there is no real reason to upgrade waterblocks these days as performance has not really changed significantly. Point of fact my 6 year old Raystorm Pro is still doing what it was designed to do so well in 2016.

The only reason to buy a new block is because I can no longer get a replacement mounting plate for the block on a new platform. If I was in the market for a new block, this would be top of my list, the cost to performance ratio makes sense. I don't want to spend an extra $60 to get additional 1-2C delta on full load!

Clearly shows that there is no real reason to upgrade waterblocks these days as performance has not really changed significantly. Point of fact my 6 year old Raystorm Pro is still doing what it was designed to do so well in 2016.

You could even solve most problems by lapping the block, if you run into minor issues with concave/convex like how some coolers sucked for AM4 since they werent making great contact over the chiplets

Flatten both sides out and you're all good, chunk of metal to chunk of metal

well you could give me the block, and ill test it on my custom loop with a 5800x 3d versus an EK Supremacy evo lol. I'll mail it back, i just wanna see how well it performs before i actually bought it haha
