I think the RTX 4070 Ti will be disappointing in terms of price. It's already listed at $1400 in Serbian Retail stores, which is well above the MSRP. Would you consider buying this card?

While the 7900XTX isn't as powerful as the 4080 in terms of RT performance, it's not *that* far off in the grand scheme of things. Looking at how cut down the 4070 ti is there's a very real concern that in some titles the 7900XT may match it; in which case, why would you pay the same price for what's almost assuredly going to be noticeably worse rasterization performance? If you need CUDA, sure, but it does make me wonder how exactly this will work out for nVidia here.

just wait and see what the RTX4060(Ti) will be like, ultimately its just a name, imagine if its better then an RTX3080 yet more efficient for 500 - 600 dollar, still too much imo but for plenty of you im sure that would not be a bad deal.

AMD same thing, we have a 7900xtx and 7900xt, we need to wait for the 7800xt, 7800(non xt), 7700xt etc etc

again most of this is just because of both companies and consumers being asshats with crypto crap.
Now we are flooded with cards that miners no longer can use and still plenty of stock in stores that nobody buys that they still want to get rid off (and lets keep it that way, fuck em, unless they drop the price by a lot more, greed should not pay).

The days of sub 400USD for an RTX xx60 class are well and truly over, mark my words, the RTX 4060 would most likely be >400USD, more likely than not, closer to mid-400USD to 500USD. Mr Leatherjacket had already made it known by proclaiming Moore's Law is Dead, thus positing nVidia new paradigm shift in pricing policy.

I dunno..

I paid 1350CAD for my 3070Ti and PSU bundle 2 summers ago. Pricing here hasn't really changed that much.. mind you I haven't looked this month.

For us here in Canada I think the new upper midrange norm will be about a thousand of our bucks. My 3070 is the most expensive card that I have ever bought lol. I bought a 580 Matrix just as the 680s were being rolled out, and I used it for 8 years because I had a young family. But still, I always had a credit card and just could not justify spending big dollars on hardware. I did replace it with a 980 in 2017 and still have it in use.. 580 is on the shelf though :D

The thought of spending 2000 bucks to play video games and run benchmarks is just crazy to me. I can see the appeal, but still..

Siberia because Russias the only continent left in the world where people can afford to power that electricity devouring monster.

I like my gaming but the thought of having to pay a significant daily £ penalty to just switch on my PC would ruin the experience.

@eidairaman1 for really sad reasons (speaking the truth) your post is labeled low quality post hence cant be quoted (what a nice way to protect poor and defenseless nvidia).

Anyways, the worst part is, people like OP will buy nvidia regardless of what AMD has to offer and they will keep ignoring the fact that nvidia treats them like cattle.

AMD simply has no hope and i would personally love if they sold the gpu division just to see how much more nvidia will charge their rabid cult members.

I dunno..

Pst buddy, AMD also sells GPUs.

Besides that bombshell, if we keep enabling this behavior, then yes, we will never get reasonable priced gpus anymore.

And at this point, i dont blame AMD for starting to become greedy like nvidia, since no matter how much nvidia charges, people keep buying their gpus, so AMD figures that all of us are rich, like how nvidia sees our wallets.

1400$ for a 4070ti? if this doesn't immediately scream absurd to anyone i'm in shock.
I hate consoles but if this is the way forward i would prefer to buy one then spend that much money on a mid tier gpu. Unless it can cook and vacuum.

A bit more serious, this is out of control, no way the cost of manufacturing a mid tier gpu more then tripled since the 1070ti (cost 449 at launch). This is INSANITY.

I think that AMD really blew a golden opportunity by not naming correctly the new gpus, the 7900 XT (it should’ve being called 7800 XT and priced at US$ 650 tops) and the 7900 XTX should’ve been called 7900XT and priced at 799 tops.

Give it some time. 4080 was listed 2000 at first, currently 1400 and dropping, the 2% rich buyers will run out soon.

Still optimistic that these ridiculous prices won't fly so high for long. No way Huang and Lisa will be able to keep their ethereum mining boom margins just on average consumers.

No amount of forums/reddit/social networks posts will change the pricing.

Either people will be buying the cards or not. I hope they won't, so that NVIDIA could realize they actually need to sell stuff instead of trying to look smug.

Prior gen will suit almost all users and half the price or less.

That could be part of the point of why 40xx is so expensive. Unless you must have best RT, why bother?

a new 3070ti for 700€/750 usd, isn't exactly a good buy either.

As long as last gen cards are in stock, and, in nvidia's case, still selling at two year old MSRP (or over, outside of US), this gen will be overpriced trash. Who would even look at 3000 series if nvidia would start selling 4080 for 700-800?

You must remember that two summers back, crypto was still a thing, supply chain issues were still a thing......under normal circumstances, an RTX 3060 12GB should be around 500CAD, >300USD. Likewise, I'd gotten my Nitro+ 6900 XT back in January 2021 and it cost me about 1350USD back then), and looking at present price of my card, I'm quite . But that's life, or c'est la vie!

I think the RTX 4070 Ti will be disappointing in terms of price. It's already listed at $1400 in Serbian Retail stores, which is well above the MSRP. Would you consider buying this card?
You have to wait until ampere stock is sold out. Then Nvidia will correct prices. It may last until end of Q1 2023

The only 3070 Ti on Newegg is an Eagle and is listed for 999. Same price as when I paid for mine..
I think prices of cards, the previous gen mid range cards, had gone down, but are steadily rising due to supply drying up. Being upper mid tier, I suspect peeps are grabbing cards of such performance level (like the RX 6800) instead to paying for the RTX 4000 cards. Imagine, now nVidia want us to pay 899USD (~121CAD, but easily more due to nVidia premium) for a similar tier card.

That's why I buy AMD cards, better bang-for-buck cards imo....

Perhaps the pricing has to do with local market demand in Canada. For example, I'd searched my home country for a GB RTX 3070 Ti, and I found a Gigabyte RTX 3070 Ti Gaming OC for ~758CAD, whereas it's listed here in Canada at ~1000CAD. Prices had gone down somewhat in the past year, but have risen again, though that RTX 3070 Ti is pretty reasonably priced in my neck of the woods.

I think that AMD really blew a golden opportunity by not naming correctly the new gpus, the 7900 XT (it should’ve being called 7800 XT and priced at US$ 650 tops) and the 7900 XTX should’ve been called 7900XT and priced at 799 tops.
If AMD called the 7900XT a 7800XT and priced it at $650 USD there is zero chance they could meet the demand for that product, it'd be perpetually out of stock, scalped and among other things they'd be accused of a paper launch. Price it like they did... Well we saw what happened. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
