Did you know of what we did at 2003 (computer mod's) when all PSU was medium in wattage 400W?
We was connecting two in parallel.

In case of emergency I will combine PRIME TX 750 & PRIME Fanless TX 700 = 1450 W

Brilliant idea! but not so feasible isn't it? Two seperate psus wont fit in my case. Let's hope 750w would be enough.
I will update the situation as soon as my order arrives.

Hi,
Yes what your system is pulling from the wall socket

Some back up battery systems do this to this might be the best investment but costs a lot more than the kill a watt device :cool:

Its about a Seasonic PSU after all !

In two weeks time I will install my PRIME TX750 too.
My chance to review it prior using it, this helped me to realize of how excellent it is this beast.

Those are really nice units; I use the old version (still available)

I did need to repair it when the screen started to fade, but maybe the new model is better.

Thank God yes!

And I also stress tested my system to the limits, (R9 3900x + RTX 3080). As for now, it seems 750w is enough.

To be honest, I wouldn't enjoy my rig as much if I picked up another PSU brand.

After 30 years as an electrical engineer and having tested 100s of PSU's Corsair AX and HX1000+ series are brilliant. I personally build my own PSUs that cost a lot more than these because of the premium of parts you could never have in any mass produced company.

How do you get to construct the main high frequency transformer correctly? as I understand it tends not to generic but rather very particular to a supply.

You could use a generic 120-12VAC transformer and a multiplicity of caps and chokes...

Not sure how reliable and safe that would be though.

A linear power supply, like the good old days; very stable (reliable and safe) and not suffering from high frequency noise; but heavy, expensive and inefficient.

Switched mode power supplies were developed for the minuteman missile and not by Apple as Steve Jobs liked to claim. I believe the idea was also around before transistors.
