7900 XTX Fps/performance problem

Specs:
Windows 10 64 bit latest version
Bios: 2604
Asus ROG STRIX B550-E
AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
Powercolor 7900 XTX
G.Skill (4 x 8GB) Trident Z RGB, DDR4 3200MHz, CL16
Evga Supernova 750w g3

So the issue i'm having is that my 7900 xtx is way behind in fps/scores than the others for some reason, for example Red Dead Redemption 2 at 4k, i get around 55-60fps while others seem to get around 100fps, Used the same settings as the person in this video and i got around 55-60, i don't think the difference between 5800x and 5800x3d should be that big..

I've undervolted the gpu from 1150mv to 1050, increased memclock from 2498 to 2714 and limited the min clock speed to 2500 and max to 2600 because it should basically run the same as stock or better, according to this video

3Dmark Time Spy Extreme scores are way behind aswell most benchmarks i've seen are around 14000-15000, Here's my best run so far https://www.3dmark.com/spy/33662081 and the latest run https://www.3dmark.com/spy/33666612 which was run with clock speed min at 2300 and max 2400

While that would help, I don't think it explains 40 FPS differences.

Sub 100 FPS is rarely CPU limited anyway.

You'd be surprised.

Use the 7900 XTX review on techpowerup to find a good overclocking method.

Still not enough details given either. We don't know the monitor or what os build of 10.

Or even the kind of storage drives

Or detail level, whether in game or forced by the Adrenalin Control panel

I agree with what others have said but think you should look at the 5800X3D review there's 15% there.minimum sometimes more probably worth noting a test bench doesn't have the background tasks a gamer pc usually has.

Why would you overclock the memory? Bandwidth isn't an issue anymore as it was when we had GeForce 2 Ti.
First test your card stock with your system why kind of fps you get and when you know the reason why you're not getting the fps you should fix the aspect of your system that is the bottleneck.
The card itself is plenty fast enough and few % won't show anywhere meaningful.

Try to disconnect all the monitors and only have one plugged in, and try each one separately and see what the results are. Have you tried different games? Is it only RDR2 that has a wildly different result from official reviews? If you are getting 55-60 fps, that might be a vsync/frame limiter issue, where it's capping at 60fps. So only have 1 monitor plugged in, try different games, and se what the results are.

I think it's 1/2 of dozen things things.

Different CPU, but i don't 100% believe it has much to it with this game.
Different ram settings
His GPU is hitting 2900 and not 2600
By watching the video it looks like he's getting more 80-90+ not 100+
Windows tweaks
Radion software options are different, like already said frame limiting of one or more kinds.

On RDNA3 cards if you overclock the memory too much it doesn't show artifacts but the performance decreases according to the TPU reviews.
Try everything on default settings first, click default on the overclocking tab in the AMD control panel.

Silly question and hope it wasn't asked/answered already but did you enable Resizeable bar?

Yes i've enabled resizeable bar/smart access memory,

All so check this out, explains what Bet0n is on about.

Figured out that apparently, the idle power issue on multi-monitors cause the graphics score on 3dmark to decrease by alot so that solves that problem, just using 1050 voltage and max clock 2600 and min clock 2500 for now due to the temps being good at this range and no noticeable performance loss on the games i play daily, is my 5800x bottlenecking the gpu that bad then? It never even goes above 50% when gaming..

Ah, I see. I had same issue with my 6800xt. It was base clock causing my gpu to dump to minimum performance. I had to boost the main core up and keep memory at a single speed just to prevent it from dropping its speeds and ultimately its performance.

Figured they would have fixed this by now.

Hey, I’m in the same boat here.

Similar specs as you expect mobo and ram. my ram is 3600 16-16-16-32

I am also seeing a decrease in about 50 fps from Warzone 2.0 on 1440p ultra compared to YouTube videos out there.

I have not yet tried to disconnect one of my monitors.

I switched from a rtx 3080 and I wiped NVIDIA drivers using DDU before swapping GPU. I originally was thinking there might be a driver issue, however after seeing your post. I’m thinking the 5800x is bottlenecking the 7900 xtx at 1440p big time.
The gains aren’t good when I drop the graphics settings

Yeah apparently the 5800x isn't as good as i thought haha, it seems to bottleneck it, i managed to get the same fps as many benchmarkers on cyberpunk 2077 in 4k atleast

If you upgrade your cpu before me, let me know how it goes.

@KookosPahkina I doubt it's the 7900XTX.

Look at your timespy CPU score of 5000. That's what, i3 level performance? Normal 5800X and 5800X3D (both are close in Timespy) should be in the 12000 region.

Not sure what exactly is going on with your setup to produce these results. Regardless of how poorly the 7900XTX might be performing due to drivers or whatever reason, the physics

I do get around 11k in normal timespy, the ones I linked are timespy extreme

Ah, missed that. 11k is a little low but normal for stock.

Pretty safe to say that a difference of >50% is very unlikely to exist between 5800X and X3D outside of very fringe titles (e.g. Factorio). Doubt it's your CPU that's the main culprit.

Hey did you end up figuring out the issue?

I'm using a Saphire 7900 XTX Nitro with an i7-7700K and also getting ~50% of the frames I'm seeing in all the benchmark videos for Warzone.

Well you are running 7700K, that is your bottleneck.

Just to put that into perspective. I've had 5800X and scored around 14800 in 3dmark Port Royal, moved to 5800X3D and that score jumped to 15800. And port royal doesn't output CPU score, that was just the improvement from changing the CPU.
