Aussie windows uses the american format, with us for the region - because we use the same keyboards ($ vs pounds/euro)

Best debloater so far, since it allows you to choose whats removed vs just blindly changing things
I will see if I can get around it in the week for testing this on my laptop since it's a non critical machine for me.

Hi,
Looks like a large update coming
Some from the store it seems maybe ms figure out a way to isolate incompatible hardware from getting a couple of the new features/ apps because that I know of you can't cheat the store with bypasses ?
Crapload to quote lol so I'll just give some tasters

It’s an exciting time in technology, not just for our industry but for the world.
The Windows PC has never been more relevant in our daily lives,
and this is increasingly the case as we approach the next wave of computing led by the mass adoption of AI.
Today’s major update to Windows 11, that I am pumped to introduce, meets this new age of AI and reinvents and improves
the way people get things done on their PCs.

Launched just over a year ago, Windows 11 gave the PC a modern refresh and all new experiences that enable each of us to connect,
participate, and be seen and heard. Since the launch, Windows 11 users continue to be more engaged than Windows 10 users and our
US consumer customer satisfaction is higher than any version of Windows ever.

In the last three weeks, we also launched the new AI-powered Bing into preview for more than 1 million people in 169 countries,
and expanded the new Bing to the Bing and Edge mobile apps as well as introduced it into Skype. It is a new era in Search,
Chat and Creation and with the new Bing and Edge you now have your own copilot for the web.

Other improvements or additional features
Introducing Phone Link for iOS in preview
Android® phone users get an even richer experience
Broadcast your best self, right when you need to with advanced AI
Connect in more ways with a simple click
Providing help is easier than ever with the redesigned Quick Assist app
More of the news and information you care about is just a swipe away
Enhancing your touch experience
Screen recording in Snipping Tool
Tabs make navigating Notepad easier than ever
New accessibility features include Braille display support and enhanced voice access in key apps
New energy recommendations make it easier for you to control your environmental impact
Harness the power of AI to find the files you need recommended in your Start menu
Access your Cloud PC with the new Windows 365 app

Here's the part where compatible hardware searches may break any bypass ?
How to take advantage of all these new features
Windows is delighted to deliver on our promise to bring exciting new experiences to Windows 11 more frequently in our continuing
commitment to innovate in ways that matter to you. With this update, we are bringing the power of the new AI-powered Bing and
additional new features to make staying connected—whether it be to the people or information you care about—easier, for everyone.
These new experiences will start to become available today, via Windows Update and new apps available via Microsoft Store updates2.
Users with eligible devices running Windows 11, version 22H2 who are interested in experiencing these new features now, can choose
to do so by opening Windows Update settings (Settings > Windows Update) and selecting Check for updates3.
We anticipate full availability
of the new features delivered via Windows Update in the March 2023 monthly security update release (find more information for commercial
customers).

We’re pumped about this update and believe there’s never been a better time to experience the magic of the Windows PC than right now;
learn more here.

"Exciting" is a term that, through time, hasn't exactly been a good thing when it comes from Microsoft.

That is one of the reasons I haven't gone with frigging 11 yet!

I don't want to have to spend days on end tweaking the dang system to make it feel normal.

Too bad Microsoft isn't aware of advanced users and our desires for what we want in an operating system. I'd love an Enterprise LTSC version of Win 11 that looks like Win 7.

Hi,
A lot of tweaks have to be redone after updates
W1zzard said not so much but I redo stuff just for good measure and out of habit at this point.

MS is more interested in kids they're easier to shape than old farts like us

While Microsoft is notorious for fux0ring-up operating systems in my opinion Win 8 is when they really went for the lowest common denominator market. For Win, 10 Enterprise LTSC is the only version I'll install on my own PC's and even then highly modify it. Now that I have Alder Lake (and as of tomorrow Raptor Lake) rigs Win 11 is a necessity. After modding Win 11 Pro to my liking I really like it but hate having to spend the time to do it.

I'd love an Enterprise LTSC version of Win 11 that looks like Win 7.
Right there with you!

That is one of the reasons I haven't gone with frigging 11 yet!

I don't want to have to spend days on end tweaking the dang system to make it feel normal.
To be fair, once you've done it a few times, it takes minutes.

Hi,
Yeah select all and paste in cmd as admin
Few minute later if you disable tamper protection you're done.
Then just deal with the looks a little more and miscellaneous things that interests you.

I do the same stuff to 10 so nothing new.

Just different script.

Too bad Microsoft isn't aware of advanced users and our desires for what we want in an operating system. I'd love an Enterprise LTSC version of Win 11 that looks like Win 7.
Right there with you!

Microsoft is brewing something because it's a good business for them, but we properly won't see anything that looks like a LTSC version until 2025 at latest.

My guess will be properly spring time there will be a food note from the ninja cat team about something that could be a code for LTSC.

Hi,
Yeah I'm excited all this bloat might be included in a so called "security update":fear:
To be completely fair, they didn't call this a "security update." That's a separate category. It's considered a "feature update."

They've differentiated the two for some time. Be nice if windows update had more (native) control than just defer a few weeks though for the feature ones.

I still have a little bit of weird flicker issue, but only in Windows 11 not Windows 10, and it only effects AMD gpu drivers I think. Where if I watching a youtube video in firefox, and then a friend sends me a youtube video in steam chat, even if I am not watching them and both are paused, my screen will flicker black periodically, once I close out the steam chats, the flicker goes away. It's very annoying. Doesn't happen on Windows 10 though (I have a dual OS install of Win 11 and 10)

Hi,
Same February update looks like it's going to be messing with or defender starts blocking UI apps like startallback and my fav explorerpatcher maybe

Nothing new really updates usually undo lots of stuff pretty much why third party apps update to but if EP doesn't update and it hasn't for around 4 months now
Guess I'll just hop back on 10 seeing they aren't all that different imho and even 10's ribbon is better than 11's and EP works on 10 still
11 sure isn't worth going back to the nasty looking bs it comes with.

I've been using 11 daily for around 4 weeks and seriously guys and gals there is no there there and 10 is just as my favorite saying goes "it's snappy to" with basically the same alterations

Citing compatibility issues, Microsoft now officially recommends you to avoid StartAllBack and ExplorerPatcher. These two tools are famous for restoring classic features in Windows 11, such as Windows 10 Start menu, File Explorer with ribbon, the classic taskbar, and much more. A post on the Windows Health dashboard website advises you to install them to avoid Explorer crashes and boot loops.
Third-party UI customization apps might cause Windows to not start up
After installing KB5022913 or later updates, Windows devices with some third-party UI customization apps might not start up. These third-party apps might cause errors with explorer.exe that might repeat multiple times in a loop. The known affected third-party UI customization apps are ExplorerPatcher and StartAllBack. These types of apps often use unsupported methods to achieve their customization and as a result can have unintended results on your Windows device.
Workaround: We recommend uninstalling any third-party UI customization app before installing KB5022913 to prevent this issue. If your Windows device is already experiencing this issue, you might need to contact customer support for the developer of the app you are using. If you are using StartAllBack, you might be able to prevent this issue by updating to the latest version (v3.5.6 or later).

Hi,
Taskbar wise I'm only using builtin setting for win-10 "start on left" so I don't think that will get broken.
But explorer is the worst and a deal breaker for myself if EP gets killed and never updates.

Lots of people use openshell so I'm surprised it wasn't listed frankly it changes a bunch to.

Start11 added to

Heads Up Start11 users, if you installed KB5022913, (an optional update released today) you may encounter a few hiccups with the coloring of the taskbar or clock on secondary monitors, we have a fix deployed internally and will have an update soon#Start11 #Windows10 #Windows11 pic.twitter.com/tm9zMo3OaR

To be fair explorerpatcher hasn't been maintained in a bit, so it was bound to break sooner or later.

Start11 is working and likely to remain that way, just some color issues.

I was really disappointed when the updates stopped on ExplorerPatcher.

I did use Start11 for a while and still have the license, but finally just gave in and went back to the default taskbar/start menu. It took a week or two to change the muscle memory and I can function like I did on Win 10 (and 8.1, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, NT4, 95, 98, 3.1). I figure if you're going to drink the coolaid, might as well take a big gulp.

The only UI change that I can't give up is the reg. entry to restore the previous right-click context menu. They lock that down and I'm out.

So W11 timeline is about that point in W7 iTunes and all the other outsider junk equally bad as the M$ junk had the Windows on profit thrown open to let in their bad air as well?

I see official announcement stating Apple products inclusion as a positive... :fear:
