As far as Gaming in TWWH3 I get about 35% more performance. I am using 1 stick of 16 GB for now as my 6000 kit is on the way. I hope to see what a 3000 1:1 will translate to.

I'm actually pretty surprised by both running Witcher 3 next gen for 2 hours Core maxed out at 66, hotspot 75, memory 68. That's with stock power limits and fan curve. As far as noise it makes less than my stock FTW3 3080ti and Strix 2080ti while keeping similar temps... the strix is a couple C lower the FTW3 a couple C higher. I can't hear it over my case fans Phanteks T30 running at 800-1200RPM depending on their location in my PC. 19-20C ambient typically while I game.

So, I found the 3070ti lacking with 4K and upgraded

Definitely the biggest GPU upgrade jump I've ever made and it definitely does the job! It just eats through anything fully maxed out, Ray Tracing, everything. I hate myself for spending the money on it but if I keep using it enough, maybe it won't be too bad. :laugh:

hah, you're on the same path as me. Wasn't long before i found out just how bottlenecked a GPU can be on a 5900x in RT/BVH heavy games. :laugh:

I once paired a 3090 with a R5 2600 for shits and giggles. My 4090 hasn't been too bad with my 5950X but my Samsung Bdie is very tuned. Just waiting to see if Meteorlake is a shit show or not to upgrade.... :laugh:

If am5 motherboards weren't so stupidly priced I'd probably just grab a 7800X3D. Might still do that.

I'd be tempted by am5 if I believed these boards would be able to hit high mem clocks say for zen6 paired with a competent controller. (I suspect they're gonna be like x370 unable to keep up with memory)

The 6 core rumors kinda killed my will to wait for what's coming with intels new node. So raptor lake it is for me, buuut I just canceled my CPU order after being informed for a 3rd straight week that my order is getting delayed again. Just waiting for the money to be returned and I'll place another order through a more.. reliable retailer. Sitting on the new board/Ram and cooler unable to test for doa parts currently. Feels greaaaat.

Not a huge fan of Alderlake/Raptorlake I'd still take being able to upgrade to Zen5X3D over running faster memory. Awesome chips otherwise. Also not a huge fan of Z790 with needing to take away 8 lanes to run gen5 ssd. Although some Am5 boards do similarly stupid things to allow 2 or more.

My wife bought these for me for an early bday gift as they were on sale. These noise cancelling is jarring its so effective. The audio is pretty good too. Recommended if you use an iphone.

I'd give Hogwart's another try, it was rough for a good week after launch. I just tried that game out, maxed out and frames were high, game was smooth. I wish Callisto Protocol was better than it was or I'd give that one a try.
