BTW IMO he was better back then. He focused more on getting his point across over throwing in as many cringy hyperboles as possible, trying hard to be funny (and failing, because being funny is not sth you should ever try hard to do).
I get your point there but this is the old pre-bead days and the only one I have seen from that era. His not funny:(

What do people think of this case I just saw on Gumtree? I like the snoopy etched side panel.,but the case in general to me. looks ugly :(compared to my Lian L18 case which is a nice-looking case.:) Having said all that I do like the creative front audio port panel but as I saw on eBay someone was selling one but said it did not include the leads. So if I was to buy this case ,I would have to buy some.o_O One of the reasons it does look ugly is because it is very wide. Details of the case with fans and custom cutouts for water cooling.custom acoustic panels to make the case silent, fan speed control panel.
Akasa Eclipse 62 £15 what do peiple thikn of it?o_OI bet it is a heavy case. It is too wide for me. The only thing I am interested in is the Creative sound panel and the fans.I am not interested in water cooling.

Review of the case
The Eclipse 62 is an exceptional case, both in material quality and also in design. Nothing on the market matches the cooling performance, the available internal space, and the sheer style with its smooth black exterior and interior chassis contrasting with the mirror finish stainless steel removable motherboard tray. Made from 1.2mm aluminum with removable sides, top and front panels, and total access. Designed for front and rear 12cm fans giving massive airflow with ultra quiet sound level. - Removable aluminum sides, top and front panels- All black ABS front panel - Smooth anodized black interior finish - Slide-out mirror finish stainless motherboard tray- 1.2mm thick chassis plates- 4 x 5.25" external bays - 2 x 3.5" removable external bays - 5 x 3.5" removable internal bays - Designed for 120mm fans in the front and rear panel- Acrylic fan duct included, installation optional- Air intake filter- 2 front panel USB ports - front panel PCI slot- 8 rear PCI slot- Dim: 460 x 240 x 560 - Chassis wheels included - 12cm front and rear fans are included to provide maximum airflow and super silent operation

So I do need to buy a soundcard as well

Yep, got two of them in active use. One in my secondary FX rig, and another paired with a Phenom II X4 :toast:

I have an Asus Matrix 7970 in its original box, used that on my secondary X58 rig before I got a dirt cheap R9 290X Matrix Platinum for it. :)

^have two 8600, the other one is dead. The survived one I changed the fan, will not put picture here, it is on the shelf somewhere, but if recall correctly I managed it run on W10.
MSI NX 8600 GTS

Not sure how I'll be able to restore the shell of the heatsink though..
That Quadro, would just let it be as is unless you have friend that can re-make labels. Looks clean otherwise. Likely been at the bottom of a box somewhere.

Pretty much right.

The only option that would both be a compatible replacement and look cool would be an stock 8800GT G92 HSF, as the reference board for the Quadro is the 8800GT it seems.

Damn I hate that when a cooler shroud gets cosmetic damage. Especially when that Quadro one looks way cooler (pun intended) than the 8800 GT one.

Finished fixing up this peculiar HP wireless mouse. Had a nasty battery leak that killed left side clicking.

I just went ahead and replaced all three small switches with normal mouse switches since the PCB had markings for both types.

Another goodie. Palit Geforce 8600GT sonic+ 256MB DDR3. All it needed was a repaste and a fan lubrication.

Welp, time to crank the Sound Blaster. Just recabled those Pioneer SE-205 headphones.

wow, how did you manage to recable headphones. The newer headphones have such thin wires, that if some string is cut, now way to fix it (unless a watchmaker).

These had normal 22 or 26 (not sure, it was similar to the PC front panel wiring in terms of thickness) wiring so not a whole lotta issue recabling them. The wire I bought for the headphones is standard RCA wiring, more or less - two wires for left and right, and copper wire for ground.

I did have newer headphones with the stupidly thin wires - these usually required using aspirin to remove whatever coating was on the coloured wires, then using standard flux and tin to get them solder-ready.

The Focusrite Scarlet HP-60 ones I have do use thin wiring, but it's in the same vein as these 1975 Pioneers - 22 or 26 AWG cabling.

^ what do I know, a couple of youngsters here in the past, somehow, either the wire connection to the headset itself or that mic/volume switch part on the cable itself failed, and that was a no go to repair. And if i recall correctly, those were 3'5 plug thing or a USB combo. However this Sennheiser hp is another animal, long cable, dual "wired"(not all in one) still works.
I have fixed a couple of them old timer hp's, and that was fairly easy, the wires were a bit "thicker".

On the Pioneers I've replaced the cable on, the wires from the original cable started showing signs of corrosion when cut - I'd see green residue when I cut the 6.3mm cable.

Since I'm waiting on a x2 4600+ for my 939, I figured I'd set it up in the meantime.

Yes, I indeed went ahead and dropped 4GB worth of DDR400. Not sure if that was a good idea, but it defo feels very snappy.

The next thing in order would be another 8600GT sonic+ and a SLi bridge, and I guess my first SLi setup ever would be done. Wonder how 8600GT in SLi would fare.

Of course. I do have SP1 as well but the disc is so old that most of my drives didn't like it. That, and it's x86 - the SP2 I used is x64.

I was thinking of buying this AMD board
first time I have seen this guy with a beard o_OI do like his videos :)Gigabyte GA-78LMT Motherboard & AMD Quad Core CPU for £10 but the guy said he did not know what CPU is in it. I bet that is because it has one of the weaker cards in it. Plus all the youtube videos saying how bad even the top-of-the-range FX 8300 waso_OAnd I was watching one of our friend's videos Phils computer lab about it saying you have to have special ram that does not work in intel is that right?o_OI can't find his voice now. Is the FX series as bad as people say? Is it worth taking a pint on it for £10?
I have never seen a red Heatsink fan. o_O It is working so the guy says. I don't hear people on here saying they have an FX card. It looks in very good nick all clean.
