It's multi-language, but I think it's the user manual to the PCChips M870 v2.0 mobo. This is a zipped pdf file.

Thanks 68Olds :) The board has got very bad reviews well PC Chips has::(Seems like that was a bad buy for a £5 new and boxed:(The other one i got was not though.i will just have to learn to put a AMD CPU in the socket with out breaking the pins.:(

Some background on PCChips
Shipped driver disks which were virus infected
Known to put fake cache chips on motherboards (486, early pentium days)
Overclocked chipsets by default making them unstable (pentium, K6-2/3 days).
Sold mobo + duron CPU combos, couldn't change CPU - it was bonded to the board, the processor was overclocked on one of the models
Socket 754 is only worth considering if you are on a really really tight budget. On a tight budget S939 would be better but if you could stretch to AM2 it would be better.
If you have pots of cash Intel Core2Duo is the way to go.

And you might want to check on ECS Elitegroup 755-A2 Socket 754, it is the same board as I can see.

PC Chips where also on couple of other brands too, which can't remember.

From what I am finding the PC CHIPS M870 V2.0 is socket 754, not socket 939. You might want to take a close look at the CPU socket & confirm the socket. Here's a pic of a s939 zif socket.

Need a little help remembering a GPU I used in a P4/Celeron build from ~2002-ish. If my memory serves me correctly, it was a GeForce 4 MX 460 or 440-SE.

I stumbled on a random image which might be the GPU in question, so if anyone can recognize it, I'd appreciate it.

EDIT: I'm blind apparently. The code G4440-8232D indicates it's a 440-SE. Seems to be several revisions, some are passive some are actively cooled.

PC Chips were also on couple of other brands too, which can't remember.
Someone in praise of them o_O
Don’t know where to begin here, ok, let’s start with the terrible “history” of their early boards, back in the mid 90’s they were soldering fake cache chips to their boards that were “blanks” and didn’t do anything, simply there to fool you into believing you had a superior board, reliability was never an issue but fake IC’s were a very big problem.

Right ok, so how come I am claiming that PC Chips actually made decent boards? well later on in the era of socket 754, their boards were actually amongst the best for windows98, I’ve just bought a new old stock PC Chips M870 V2.0 board to use with my Athlon64 3700+, this is the top processor for socket 754, the board is based on the SiS 755 northbridge and 964 southbridges, now here’s the funny thing, in the past I have spent hundreds on boards from MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte none of which worked properly or were fully stable with windows98, in fact without trying to sound vulgar they were all piss poor, However apart from overclocking (which i will come to in a minute) this PC Chips board absolutely destroys them for stability and compatibility, it works wonderful with DOS and windows without a single problem.
For those of you that didn’t know PC Chips are a sister company of ECS Elitegroup and my M870 V2.0 board is identical in both BIOS and topology to the ECS Elitegroup 755-A2 the only difference is the color, the PC Chips is red and the ECS board is purple.
It seems you are right there droid-I said:eek:_O

I have given up on this one,s for sure :(What it does is make grinding noise lights flashing on the board. The thermal paste has a good covering, a pea size blob on the CPU.One of those plastic bits has broken off:(

Just dismantled a Medion from the car boot sale yesterday.

Specs:

-MSI MS-6747 mobo (which I think was derived from the retail 865GM2)
-Geforce FX5600XT 128MB (dunno why I expected it to me a GF4 MX460, lmao)
-originally had 2x256MB Siemens DDR400
-P4 HT 2.8GHz (Northwood HT core)
-Fortron FSP250-60MDN-120
-160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ATA133 HDD
-Pioneer DVR-106DB burner + Ultima DHM-G48 reader
-(not pictured) Create SAA7134 TV-Tuner/Modem combo card and Agere 802.11b WLAN card

What I'll probably do:
- bump the RAM to highest possible amount
- replace the 5600 with something else (thinking of either 9600 Pro or X1300 Pro)
- try and see if I can cram a 98 and XP dualboot in there.
You do like your flowers Maxi :)Me to i am a gardener myself:)

Unfortunately no self photos of the speakers I got, but these Genius SW-HF5.1-6000 speakers have found their way to me.

28453321.genius-sw-hf5-1-6000-31730022101.jpg

To be precise, it's not the full set - only the remote, main sub, center and rear L/R speakers are what I got, and nothing else beside them.

That sub is painfully heavy, but boy does it produce a marvelous sound.

I have got a back bracket one like in the photo for CF card.I am asking about an SD card one with a bracket. It is just an idea.I have got Windows 2000 on this Board 1463 the one i got sometime ago with the heavy case with a Moduler PSU for £5.That was the board where the small Heatsink broke off i got the heatsink off another board that did not work ,along with the Heatsink Fan.This was the heatsink fan that was on on the board i saw a bit of smoke coming from it .It looks ok though.Windows 2000 on the 64 gb CF card. :)This is the first of the £5 and under boards that have gone all the way.:)The one in the £1 case would have done it to but as there were caps that were well gone i left it at that.Than there is the one out of the Hp PC i found last year that needs some new caps that booted same as the £1 one .I did not think it was worth going any further with thouse two untel i replased the caps in them. And 1368 that got as far as in the photo instaling XP then froze,I don,t see that one going any further :(I did have hopes for it going all the way ,but no such lucky.:(

He just did a new one!
I had this camera.
Pfft, that's nothing! :)

Check this one out... I bought this webcam back in 1999 (I think?), and had it on my CRT ever since. It spent some time inside the closet waiting for its comeback ... not to mention that it's been retro-brited because it turned dark orange, but eventually moved back to where it belongs. Picture resolution is beyond "crappy" (as you'd probably expect for 1999 product), but yes - it is still working today.

If you guys want, I could snap a pic & post it in here.

Edit
Here's the oldest one I could find... Taken some time in late 1999 or early 2000:

And then approx. 5 years later, again:

Fun fact, I also happen to have that black Primax Raptor 3D joystick from both pictures, it's inside the closet with all my hardware "spares" & unused components. Everything else unfortunately either didn't make it and/or got replaced over the years.

Can anyone tell me why my print copy is so small:( Normally why i use this site for manuals they come out the right size.

ECS KN1 Extreme Manual see photo i know it is not a good photo but you can get the point. On the same site i get it like 1474.I clicked enlarge but when i printed it showed the tiny size :(It should cover the whole page like1474.Van someone try it see if they get the same tiny print. o_O I am using a Mac and problems happen when printing. Its to do with Air print :(

Fixing the Mac AirPrint driver problem for Canon and Epson printer.

Our fave Aussie You-tuber with something i had never heard of before,Windows 98 light o_O I am not sure who would want a light version of Windows 98o_OI would have thought 98 is as light as can beo_O.
:)I see the video is 7 years old. o_OI see Phil says it comes with Windows 95 shell.

Since no one really said anything, I've decided to do it anyway. I mean, why not ... right? :)

Check these out... I took the pic of my phone, showing the 1st page of this thread. I gave it my best shot, trying out several different angles and distances but regardless of them didn't get much difference in the end:

I also tried something simpler. How about this photo paper for example:

Mind you, that was some serious wizardry (not to mention premium video quality) back in a day. I remember taking a "selfie" back in 1999, printing it on A4 paper and sending it out to a family member for their b-day, just to show off my state of the art, top notch Logitech web cam :D

Got this bad boy X1950XTX for around 40$. Excellent condition, a bit of dust and the fan could use a bit of lube.

Upgraded my Elitebook 8530P from a C2D P8700 2.53GHz 3MB to a C2D T9800 2.93GHz 6MB

It didn't want to work properly at first.

CPU was locked at 800mhz or so and the WiFi suddenly wouldn't work.

One firmware update later and it's working perfectly. Cooler handles the extra TDP just fine. CPU occasionally even will clock above 3ghz.

But it is a bit faster now with this CPU installed.

Now just to try and find a faster MXM II GPU that will work here so it can play HD YouTube. Also remove the whitelist for the wifi cards and upgrade that.

Nice upgrade. You've effectively upgrade yourself to the limit. Only one faster CPU for that socket and they are exceedingly rare and pricey!

I have to ask: What's with Windows 8.1? Windows 7 is SOOO much better!
