Plenty of motherboard manufacturers release good bios at launch, they just tend not to be AMD boards.
That's true. AMD seems to be of secondary concern for manufacturers a lot of times, whether it be motherboards or GPU cooler designs.

Maybe. The AGESA being junk code much of the time doesn't help.

Does this count as tech? Some of the materials used are pretty technical :p

Bought a Deuter Vertail 16L, as a second backpack to use besides my TransAlpine Pro 28 which is great, but too big to run with. I'm going to use this to run to and from the gym and maybe for some shorter hikes too.

Received it today and I particularly like the modular compartments on the front of the straps, which can be adjusted in size or folded away, it's very lightweight too and inherently waterproof, unlike my Pro 28, which is resistant, but requires a cover (included) to be used to be waterproof.

Deuter make good stuff. Waaaaayyyy too technical for town unless by gym you mean climbing gym to train for a short hike up your next mixed peak. :p

I have now owned two Logitech F310 out of convenience and lack of commitment to gaming. They worked and in time I was dragged down by how badly they worked.

For the princely sum of US $1 a gently used wired xbox 360 brought immediate and worthwhile improvement across the board. With exception of the stupid assymetric joystick layout. A whirlwind pass through majority of my games went exceptionally well.

It isn't, let's not over-react.
Right. AGESA is so great, that's why it's being replaced by an open-source model as soon as it can be developed and has had countless minor and major issues with every generation of Zen, most recently involving explosive CPUs.

I've used three generations of AMD CPU and had different issues with each, some of which still aren't resolved, but thankfully those are relatively minor.

Look interesting. Hopefully the lack of a frame doesn't impact performance too much.

Technically the are with their technical data within the BeQuiet Light wings and their high performance series. But the datasheet says that they are more quiet than the BeQuiet. But an old german proverb says: Don't believe any statistic that you haven't faked yourself. ;)

I had till now two Ryzen building a new rig with the third generation. I have a 2700x, a 3800x and in nearer future i will have a 7950x. I defined the board as one of the real problematic points. The first boar has been a Asus ROG Crosshair. That was running fine. Then i got a Gigabyte Aorus master in V1. That was a pitty mess. I haven't seen that much of problems. Mostly because the board designer did want to make things inside the bios that didn't work. I applied my last BIOS update a few weeks ago. Since then my system is rebooting a couple of times shortly after a start. I also faced that the logitech mouse was unusuable etc. But all that belongs to Gigabyte and not to AMD. For my new rig I bought an Asus PorArt X670E.

Sometimes the usersupport at those forums lack a lot. I did ask something at a tweaktown forum. I'm a long zime member. But as they seemed to change the software i'm always told that posts have to be permitted as they count my posts at a 0-level. After around five days i forgot my account over there as i'm even not allowed to delete my account. The question i had is, if i can select the led color and if i can have three different colors as the board has three aRGB headers. If i cannot select the color inside the bios or all headers show the same colors i'm in need to use my (old) AquaComputer Farbwerk360. For using them i should construct and print a mounting plate.

He completely forgot about the 11 series launch, I guess.

I'd say it's more bloated than the competition, but junk is a tier too far.

No one said it was perfect, but one person here did call it "junk."

Well I saw a video on Youtube and said ok. The one I saw was like $225 US and not available from Amazon for me. I know that I could get all of this with a bit of work but I am not that hard up. I do look forward to playing some of those Fzero Games though.

I'm not gonna play anybody's copyright cop... but holy balls, does that look sketchy. Gives off the same malware vibes as a USB stick laying in the parking lot. I'd need an airgapped burner rig just to boot that.

But hey, maybe I'm just paranoid. (Did I mention that I just finished Cory Doctorow's Attack Surface?) Anyway, best of luck! :rockout:

It is a USB drive. You can download anything on the drive yourself and I know but things like the PSP and Dreamcast are dead platforms. I will say from a legal point why would the retailer sell me something that I should not be able to buy? However, it is a USB drive that will not be 24/7 connected to my PC.

I am pointedly and specifically not commenting on copyright. Laws vary from country to country, and I am not a lawyer.

My comment is based on the fact that this is a bootable hard drive, preloaded with who knows what, connected to your computer via a protocol that is fundamentally insecure. I wouldn't judge the benefit to be worth the risk. But I've known for a long time that I'm not "the normal one" in any group, so I might just be talking out of my ass here. :)

This properly ain't the most exciting purchased in the world but it can keep my Nidec fans in check plus I can move it on to future builds without having to think about how many fan headers I need, it was a bit pricey at £37.24 / 48.86 USD not the cheapest fan hub in the world but it's a Noctua so it's also good quality :lovetpu:
IMG_9732.jpg
IMG_9733.jpg
IMG_9734.jpg

Noctua has to work on the box the lip that closes the box I couldn't get out it was too big so I had to rip up side in both edge of the flap :( and yes I know not the best cable management in the world but it works.

I also thinking if I should buy NZXT's USB 2.0 hub so if I need it in the future I have it around but I am not sure it's a device that will go away anytime soon because the lack of USB 2.0 ports on newer hardware is limited sometimes to just one port and that's not enough :D

A like-new Logitech Wireless Illuminated K800 keyboard for $10 off the local Craigslist last night. It took a few hours to fully charge but is working great now (am using it at the moment). I love backlit keys.

Unfortunately there is very little we can do today to avoid telemetry. I have no illusions that there can be varying threats to adding anything to your PC but the thing these are all free to use anyway. What you are paying for is the service of them doing that for you. The OS on these are a collection of emulators like Playnite. .I just recently downloaded Midway Arcade to a virtual disk the other day so I could play Xenophobe.

It was my fifth year at my job yesterday and work gave me a plaque and $300 worth of gift cards. And it just so happened that my local electronics store had a Samsung Odyssey G51C 27" monitor on sale, so now it's mine :)

Woo boy, apart from the UHD resolution making everything look extra crispy, playing games that support it at 165fps is lifechanging. It's so SMOOTH. Fun fact: Azur Lane can be unlocked to run at 165fps and looks really nice.

And another little achievement: my rig can still hold 60fps native with Cyberpunk 2077 running at UHD. That's when I knew it was money well spent.

Nice! Isn't G51C 1440p not 4K?

bought this a few weeks back but wanted to run it for a bit before posting up. Excellent performance! Shifts a ton of air for a 6 inch fan. Had it running for over 10 hours last night, the longest so far and still runs a treat. The only negative, the item description suggests "ultra-quiet"... thats a load of bull!! I expected whisper quiet on the lowest setting but it tolerably audible. Anyway i'm happy with it so no RMA

What surprised me the most was the amount of air it pushes from a distance. I went for a USB unit so i could plug it into a portable charger and bring it closer to bed. Not needed, from 4 metres away this 6 incher extends its reach far and wide... (naughty little bugger)
