From my experience with Origins, just get the map expansion(s).

Incidentally, I and many others find Origins be be better than Odyssey.

So I bought the base game. GOW, SE5, Hitman, ...Maneater, probably a few others were on my periphery despite echoing SN2716057's hesitance registered in a post above. Price was a consideration here, US $9, as well the in game [ahem] fanservice(??) irrevocably tied with success I'll have to suck it up and deal with at the cut rate sale price. Season Pass with both DLC is 125% more if I decide to go a bit deeper.

Earlier I played a few minutes to get used to the controls and logic involved and then ran some benchmarks to sort out video settings and optimal resolution. Tonight I played through far enough to complete a few side quests. Forgot to use photo mode or take screenshots.

I just found out I can max all settings in BeamNG.drive including traffic So that's cool.

Less cool is that Logitech decided to no longer support ye old Driving Force Pro wheel That means it still works but only with 90 degree left and right.I guess I'll be looking at a new wheel.

I finished the God of War (highly recommended - mediocre graphics, ok design but epic narration, voice acting, script, story, sound etc.) and started the Uncharted 4 A Thief's End.

I was playing some NFS Unbound in the past week or so and I kinda liked the racing/cars part + did not mind the art style either but damn the ammount of cop chases are just too much for my taste and it ruins my fun.
I just wanna race damnit not keep my eyes glued to the minimap all the time to avoid them or the forced chases after finishing a race then having to go back to the race event meanwhile trying to avoid them again..
I had the patience for such when I was a kid and played NFS Most wanted but nowadays yeah this is just too much of a bother so I stoped playing the game. ' cops during an actual race is okay but the rest is just an annoyance imo'

Instead I've started High on Life on gamepass since I was planning to play this for a while, the game was so blurry on max settings it was borderline hurting my eyes and I'm already wearing glasses so I've checked if there is a fix for that cause I've already disabled every blur possible and it didn't help much.

Other than this I will be casually playing D4 Season 2 with a Rogue this time around, arguably that one got away in the best shape/least hurt after all these nerfs in the lastest patch.

Tried out Ostranauts, but refunded it. It might be great at some point, but ... honestly that is far away and it might not even get there. The pixel graphics are not quite right (impossble to distinguish between say cables lying on the floor and say something you want to pick up, and both of those things you can interact with!). The UI is also really not there, everything you click gets you a numbered menu, and the numbers move around a bit. Some things have 2 for pick up, other things have 2 for "smash", and when you are grabbing a whole bunch of things from the floor that was really annoying. I am interested in how it pans out though, it hasn't been in Early Access for very long. Might get at a sale at some point and look in from time to time.

I also got Elden Ring, but refunded that as well. I could tell immedietly that it is in no way, shape or form a game for me.

As the emperor of Britannia, I am uphold a long tradition of colonization.

Crusader kings 2, no DLC, plenty of mods.

The Byzantines and Bulgarians have been tearing it up, for an AI kingdom. Germany was too, and (strangely) didn't create the Holy Roman Empire, even if they had more than enough titles and land. So I conquered them. France, on the other hand, created the empire of Francia. So they are a little harder. I have taken most of their kingdoms duchy by duchy, but the kingdom of France eludes me yet.

I got Hausaland by accident through marriage and succession. No idea how the Kingdom of Italy joined up - there was some succession going on but they should have stayed independent.

The holy land was due to a crusade then taking back the crusader state. Same with Egypt.

Abyssinia I crusaded and kept the title for myself. Most of the other kingdoms I landed a claimant and conquered. Sweden and Norway were duchy by duchy, some of my first conquests.

Next up? France then the Pope (also Poland, down to one county). I need a LOT more power to take on the Byzantines.

Surprisingly, Bulgaria converted from Orthodoxy to Catholicism at random. Muslims were almost eradicated, then Abyssinia converted back (they had been crusaded once) so I could have them. Parts of the kingdom of Maghreb were independent Sunni Emirates before I grabbed them:

He had the trait and nickname Crusader, but was Sunni.

Edit: forgot to mention Rajputnata. A crusader state, as the Pope ran out of Muslims to fight. I had to dig the Suez Canal (install a mod) for that, as I only had 180 galleys (11k troop capacity) to carry over 150k soldiers, in the Red Sea. The First Crusade for Rajputnata ended inconclusively as both sides were drip-feeding troops - the Catholics outnumbered the Hindi, but they had to march through Persia. The second one went much better, but I still dug the Suez in preparation (as I now have over 200K soldiers) for the next one. I do have a bigger Red Sea Fleet as I got Abyssinia, but not anywhere near enough.

Remnant II, I pre-ordered it so I got early access. Native 1440p on Ultra (except for shadows on High) 60fps. Looks like the 6950 XT will handle UE5 games pretty well. The game scanned the system on startup and set the quality to what it considered "optimal", which enabled FSR. I was mildly insulted by that!

I've only put an hour or so into it due to a busy day but it seems as fun as the original.

I tried The Crew 2 but was very disappointed, mainly with the lazy graphics that looked like something from the 90s, so I refunded it. Motorfest looks like it's taking a bite out of Forza Horizon so it should be worth a shot.

In racing games with a high quality wheel and pedals, can you tell the difference between various cars? Like does it really feel like you are driving a BMW here? Obviously, I know not realistically, I just meant in a general sense. Or could the graphical model be replaced with a Corolla and you would not know the difference other than acceleration times? Assuming we turned off sound, which is a major part of the racing sim immersion phenomena.

I am considering buying my first wheel and pedals... was waiting on Logitech to come out with a new model, but I doubt if they ever well, last I checked the only model for PC was still one designed in like the PS3 days. I may be wrong, it's been awhile since I checked. I'd like to get into racing sims more though, I know this isn't strictly a sim fyi, just curious what your experience is since you seem to have a wheel.44

depends on the games, on the crew 2 it was all the same, it was really bad. You can tell a bit on the Forza games. If you go to Assetto Corsa and the likes you can really tell the difference in every car. You don't even need high end wheelsets.

Talking of Game Pass, I fired up NFS Unbound which is surprisingly good, but I'll have to ramp up the difficulty because 'challenging' is way too easy.
The story, such as it is, can be ignored and I turned off the awful rap and 'whatever' music completely, but was unable to obliterate the cartoonish smoke and other effects for the car which are bloody stupid in my opinion.
Other than that, loads of fun, it looks gorgeous, but can never reach the heights of Hot Pursuit and other earlier NFS games.
I'll definitely give Motorfest a crack.

Yep my HZD at 3440x1440 all ultra caps out around 110 FPS on a 8700K and I damn sure have a cpu bottleneck on a 7900XT rn but 110 fps. So yeah

Ubisoft nailed it with Motorfest and will give Forza something to think about because for me, it's a lot more fun. For some reason I got bored with FH 4 and 5, so this is a breath of fresh air.
I use a keyboard for these racing games and the handling is spot on, a great variety of cars and luscious surroundings. Fairly demanding on my RX 5700 at 45fps but I can probably dial it down a bit.

FH4 thus far has offered something else to explore when things started getting repetitive. Not just 20 minute "fast traveling other players" loading screens either. Unfortunately there is a growing trend towards being absolutely worked over to the point of beginning to hate road races. I have 30M credits so probably just need to devote requisite amount of time towards buying and tuning enough vehicles to satisfy every class and category. Doesn't help one bit having 100 cars to choose from within 40 seconds when you've never driven or tuned a single one. Or... set it up for offroad (or Winter) a few months back and ¯\_ (ツ)_/


TCM is going to be as hard of a sell for me as NFS Unbound. Just to be a good sport I'll consider downloading the beta.
