Just got 12100f+ h610 recently. At first i think of 12400f but i think i will save up some more for 13400f because i want to experience cpu with e-cores, so i ended up buying 12100f for now.

But with the release of intel 14th gen that still use LGA 1700 i think 14400f is interesting even though i dont know if my motherboard can handle it or not

Just got an Asus TUF Gaming M4 mouse to replace the wired Logitech one I was using, I'm spoilt and have gotten way too used to gaming with w/l gaming mouse. I'd also gotten my Samsung Z Flip5 a few days back, and have just gotten the case I'd ordered for it like....yesterday.

Came across an unusual new old stock listing this week for still unused, sealed 10K RPM WD VelociRaptor drives. These are 300 GB HLFS drives manufactured Oct 2009, so I guess 4th generation Raptors. Not bad for around $20 USD each so I decided to indulge.

Always wanted to have them back in the day but they were exceptionally expensive!

So I got four for my bench :D

I was surprised that they were indeed sealed, so I have two more on the way! Moment someone from a Brazilian tech forum finds that listing the guy's stock is probably going to evaporate. Also Cablemod 12VHPWR cable came in from Amazon US. Will update picture at the show your rig thread later :rockout:

What is your usual experience with importing through Amazon US and its shipping charges and taxes to Brazil? Feel free to answer via PM, because I sure as heck am tempted by some deals only to freeze when looking at those numbers.

It's extremely expensive, just this $25 USD cable ended up $85 (426 BRL), $18 for shipping and the rest was a deposit for import fees. it took 5 days for it to arrive. Amazon ships with DHL Express and they will deal with customs clearance, it already arrives in the country with all duties paid and generally cleared for delivery.

They will accept the same credit cards you use in our local Amazon BR, and accept payment either in USD or directly in BRL, processed in Brazil with a guaranteed exchange rate and no IOF - here my rate was 4.76 to the dollar.

Update on the drives, they really are completely new, weren't resealed at all!

Crossed paths with a couple of similar drives(600GB versions) recently. Tested them out and discovered that they perform well enough that using them as a primary boot/os drive is a reasonable experience!

If you can stand the noise they emit. Sure, they are still some of the fastest/low latency HDD's ever produced, but nobody in their right mind would still use them as a OS drive when SSD's are around.

The WD1500ADFD would be a nice piece to get with it's polycarbonate window. Just to look at it. Was a very unique feature back then, and still is.

We're talking about fourth gen drives, which are very quiet.

In that video, 1:19. And yes REASONABLE people still do. Not everyone trusts SSD's, especially given the recent rash of QLC based SSD's just dying for no reason.

And that's why I have about 16 x removable mechanical HDD's as b/u's (double) = 2 x HDD's per SSD/NVME's

I've installed a few games on one of them, for Apex, the loading times are practically indistinguishable from running it off a SSD. I'm rather impressed.

I wish I had another room. I mean I could build one but where would I sleep?
When not in use the base+wheel are on the shelving unit, and the pedals are shoved out of reach. I just leave all the cables attached (pita to remove every time)

This was supposed to arrive next week, but got here late at night yesterday. It's a GTX 1070 Ti in amazing condition, paid less than the street price of a new RX 6400.

It still has the warranty seal intact which means its previous owner didn't open it for maintenance, but it's so incredibly clean that he may have used it very sparingly. All accessories and protective covers came with it, as well as the stickers and all.

Kind of overkill for a C2D E8600, but it'll do nicely as a backup card :D

Working on 8600MT/s 1.38v vdd/dq now.

8800 boots Windows but is unstable. My IMC is not the best, lot's of work testing, adjusting to get 8400 + stable with tight primary's.

Waiting for RPL-R to drop, hopefully get a chip with better IMC. :)

@Dr. Dro I understand you 100% on the 10k hdd raptor drives. I remember being a teenager and lusting after them but they were way way out of budget. Very cool you get to enjoy that nostalgia man :toast:

Dunno if this counts, but 250/100mbit/s was like €2 more than 100/100 so I went for it. Honestly it's pretty nice.

Dunno if this counts, but 250/100mbit/s was like €2 more than 100/100 so I went for it. Honestly it's pretty nice.

nice!

I get upto 230mbps which translates to around 30mb downloads - very fast for us!

I need to look at upgrading packages to get better upload speeds - im getting less than half compared to your 97mbps whopper

I wish I had that in my area. The fastest I can get is around 45/2.
