The Sapphire Radeon RX 7700 XT Pulse is priced at AMD's MSRP of $450, which makes it an attractive choice. You still get a great cooler that's paired with outstanding fan settings that result in a whisper-quiet gaming experience that's quieter than most GeForce cards.

Nice review as usually @W1zzard! More oc than usual for this N32 core. Not bad. And it smashes 4060Ti to pieces in raster. Only big drawback is RT and another smaller its efficiency. The price will drop in a dew weeks I think since 7800XT has 15-20% more performance but it is only 12% more expensive.

And it smashes 4060Ti to pieces in raster.

It competes with RTX 4070 and is slower.

Very solid card, but for just $50 you can get the RX 7800XT which would be a no brainer for everyone! I think this should cost $20 less for it to make more sense, if it debuted at $430 it would be a lot better in terms of value and be priced differently enough as to make sense over the 7800XT!

Still a very good GPU overall and it absolutely destroys Nvidia's garbage 4060ti and their 16GB version, it makes them look dumb and imbecilic. If anyone buys those cards over this or the 7800xt then there is no hope for humanity, an asteroid might as well come and hit earth and destroy the planet and end humanity!

Why would anyone buy the 4060ti at $400 or the 4060ti 16GB at $450 when they are 15% slower than this card? It doesn't make any sense, alternatively one can still purchase the 6800 vanilla at $420 which is also faster than the 4060ti.

Alright folks, please behave. Several posts LQ'd, will escalate to warnings and reply bans if this persists. Trolling topics, name-calling, etc. is against the rules and DOESN'T help the topic, amazing revelation I know. So, let's play nice, keep disagreements constructive, and have a good day.

Yeah we need a 7700 non xt or 7600xt sku. The gap between 7600 to 7700xt is rather large in performance and pricing.

This looks like a nice 1440P card. With the currency conversion $50 is more like $80 and then you have add 13% to that. It could make budget 7700XTs more attractive than some 7800Xts. The fact that this card is up to 30% faster than the 6700XT (I read the review) in some Games it could be a nice go to card. Especially if they sit for a while. AV1 decode is enough to get this over a 6700XT but basically you are getting 6800 performance and that is not too shabby at all for 1440P. The main issue with the GPU market is there are maybe 4 cards that are fine for 4K high refresh and now about 10 cards that are great for 1440P. The 7600 is obviously trained directly at 1080P.

I just checked Newegg and the cheapest 7700Xt is $609.99 and the cheapest 7800XT is $674.99. Unfortunately it did nothing to change the price of the 6700XT which is cheapest at $449. What is insane is that the cheapest 6800 is $649 and 6800XT is $749. With that the 7800XT would be the obvious choice for me.

And a killer 1080p GPU. Knowing my local market, 7800 XT will probably be not 50, not 80, but even 150 dollars more pricey than 7700 XT. And I am a 1080p enjoyer so I'm probably gonna get a 7700 XT if I don't find out its UV potential is worse than I anticipated.

Of horse I can grab a used 6800 XT for half the price right today but I'm not in a hurry...

You already have a 6700XT. You should be good at least until HFW launches on PC.

I want to have at least two great 1080p performers. My current backup GPU, RX 580, is by no mean ideal.

I think nvidia's RTX 4070 will outsell this at least 2 to 1, maybe 5 to 1.
So RX 7700 XT competes with RTX 4070, not only because it's the same *70 tier.

Even though RTX 4070 is more expensive, the customers are willing to spend this upcost and the premium brand has 90% market share, while for AMD only less than 10% market share is left.

Steam hardware survey shows it so well:

RTX 4070 0.72% share, launched this April, 4 months ago:

RX 6700 XT 0.68% share, launched March 2021, 2 years and 5 months ago:

At $450 this card doesn't make sense compared to 7800 XT. As W1zz suggested, $430 is a more palatable point but as also noted, this card is physically extremely complex relative to 4060/Ti which likely means that $450 is about as low as partners can go and still make a profit. The complexity is because AMD either didn't have time or inclination to produce separate reference designs for 7700 XT and 7800 XT, and just reused the latter's, which is IMO already overkill for its price segment... at $450 it's stupid overkill.

Given that no partner has (to my knowledge) launched a custom design, it's likely that there's quite a bit of room here for them to cost optimise both this and the 7800 XT design to a point where the 7700XT at least can come down to that magical $430 point or lower. But that'll likely only be next year.

Nvidia's outsold AMD at least 5:1 in all segments for years. What exactly are you getting at here?

Strictly for gaming? Probably no one. You forget, or might not be aware of, that NVIDIA remains the gold standard for 3D modeling and game design. So, a hobbyist with $400 to spare would be foolish to go for the 7700 XT due to the performance disparity in software like Blender etc.

The 7800XT and the 7700XT are both terribly priced. They are way too close in price, what is AMD thinking?

This is useless, it is disabled by default here. How about you?

I don't think there is better research than looking at the numbers from large stores.
