One of my regular customers brought over his fancy pool cleaning robot for repair.
That plastic piece is an enclosure with a main motor. Supposed to be watertight, but not when you introduce user error into equation

I'm learning AC repair. I was given this Frigidaire 12,000 window unit to mess with. All that was wrong was the filter. It even has a light that tells you to check it. wft I'll take it
Will work well next to my computers

What amazes me as a PC tech, is when customers give me their laptops or desktops in a shit state and then wonder why they need repairing.
When I give them a quotation, which may or may not include a full strip down, their eyes come out on stalks.
I'm temped to tell them, diplomatically, to look after their kit, but Latin types are very sensitive souls and take offence very easily.

Society has gotten to the point that people buy expensive electronics, use them and when they become dirty and stop working they throw them in the trash.
Buy a new one. It's a huge problem. But I'm not above digging it right out and fixing it. I see it as saving the planet while putting cash in my pocket

I pulled it 1972 Yamaha FG-150 out of the trash, took stickers off, straighten the neck, sanded it and new strings. Sounds great

Sorry, I didn't get a before picture. It had a few kids stickers on it, like My little pony sticker or something like that. Old rusted strings and a 20 mm string height. It was pretty bad

Exactly! People need to fix their stuff, not replace it. People cry about being "green" but constantly throw things away instead of reusing things until they can't be reused.

Tech must progress, but that doesn't mean we have all the information right away. Slow progress is usually the safest, as we can find issues and correct them over time. (Like electric cars and charging stations, can't possibly over-night switch the whole world)
