I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Here, winter officially didn't end yet. However, 3 days ago thermometers were reading over 33 °C. Then rain came and today started at 7 °C.

I live in North-Western Russia where +7C is normal in any time of the year. Our so-called summer was rather cold, usually below +20C (norm is +20...24). Autumn kicks in late August, and it's common to see +10C or lower in September. October/November is when it starts to snow and April is when it stops snowing (yet not every year, sometimes it snows in May). And late May to early August is when it's considered to be summer.

The point is I hate cold. Wish I didn't screw my financial situation up so hard I did 3 years ago. Still trying to recover from it. 4 thousand (of 38k 3 years ago) dollars shortage to fix...

We both know I would have ended up having to explain why 4k is meaningless in my case though. We hang out in tech forums, everyone is pedantic. It's like a pre-qualification to get your nerd card stamped.

This part sounds like the British summer. Except that this year, it rained all summer and rarely ever went above 16-18 °C. I literally worked only two weeks without a jumper on. I wonder what winter's gonna be like.

In my area of germany a summer with temperatures od 20° - 24°C would be really cold. Most people would await the white stuff laying on the ground next morning. We have around sunny 30°C right now. At below +20°C we would be freezing here (South of the middle of germany, south of the "Weisswurst"-belt. a river named Main flowing through Frankfurt). At that temperature (+20°C) I think about taking the ski-clothes out of the cabinet.

Issue with Kingston is reliability. Many reports in this forum of failing Kingston drives (can't recall what series, but I think KC), but with stellar support though.

I just told my Dad earlier tonight I wanted to go to Costco this weekend to look at the desktop chair section, I have browsed Microcenter chairs recently, but they are too expensive. Been looking for a few weeks now, but haven't been to my local Costco yet, I think I might get lucky there, plus they usually have models sitting out to try before buy.

Most likely will get something under $200 as long as it has good lumbar support feeling and is comfortable. I really prefer padded arm rests though. Tried one from Amazon I think, might have been walmart, but gave it to my parents after using it a few days. Moving forward 100% doing try before buy.

Use a big TV for gaming and your own body would thank you LOL.

I stopped having neck and back pain after switching to the 48in OLED 2 years ago, gaming chair probably has little to help

I already have one and no issues for about 7 months now. In fact I bought 3 for my Daughter PC that is 1 TB boot and 2 2TB in RAID 0 since April. I am thinking of getting this to make a 8 TB array for under $600 CAD.

Yeah, but what if it fails? Ali isn't your average local store, you can't just park a lorry with that MRI machine outside their office and tell it's something wrong with it to their manager.

Hopefully you would have a friend that would have experience in servicing the Machine. Where I see this working well is in lower income economies. A Government of any country on Earth could buy 10 of these and create a high level Health facility. In the meantime you add the manuals and technical details to a College and in 3 years you would be pretty good. That might not even cost $1,000,000. After 3 years you order 10 more and so on. In Barbados the country is transitioning to Renewable and I fully intend to be a part of it. I have already talked about creating a Sim Racing school

Dell optiplex 390 bought back to life!!

...for a 8-yr old nephew. He plays roblox, crazygames games and fortnite. The spec falls a little short of Fortnites suggested minimum spec requirements but it runs smooth on low settings (above 60fps). To be honest i wasn't expecting much but surprised myself with the end result. Its a temporary fix until his parents gather up enough funds to get something better.

• New PSU
• New KB+Mouse bundle
• SSD pulled from a dead-mobo Dell XPS8500 build
• HD 7770 GPU pulled from the same XPS8500 build
• Memory pulled from another Dell Optiplex (i think i bought this kit years ago from Ebay)
• two of the GPU fan blades were snapped off... luckily had some spare GTX 750 TI fans as a replacement. The mounting holes didn't align so a quick temp mod applied.

Note: the Optiplex service tag suggests no support for Win 10/11. A BIOS update however bypassed the previous limitation and got Win 10 up and running.

I had a Silent Loop 2 280 mm to cool mine, but it was horrible (it worked with every other CPU I've had, just not the 7800X3D). I ended up swapping it for a Dark Rock 4 which works way better.
