hello, there is a bio of the asus card you are using in the topic, already update and use it....Hello and thank you for your efforts on keeping x58 alive and well!!
I have read over most of the comments here and have not seen my configuration. I am currently using tiny USB dongle modified to header pinout with DUET bootloader. I have gained superior speeds and saturated gen 2 PCIe!! however that is not achievable due to not being able to create raid 0 in bios. I would like to utilize your creation and do some testing myself, as well as ditch the bootloader. my configuration is
ASUS Sabretooth X58
Samsung EVO 970 (PCI/VEN_144D&DEV_A808&CC_0108)
i manage myself, thanks! Please add support for this drive:
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Ver.2
M2 SSD Disk - Micron_2210_MTFDHBA512QFD 512GB
PCI\VEN_1344&DEV_5404
Donehey may i ask if you could make me a bios
i have a MSI x58 Pro
and use a Samsung 980Pro
Hardeware ID:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5289&CC_FF00

Done and done, motherboard Asus Rampage III Extreme with ADATA Legend 800, nicely working.Hello Mikko,
better do it yourself, the bios exists, you just have to replace the hex code in one module. i doubt anyone will take the responsability of modding the bios without the possibility of testing and then tell you "go on, it s safe". this is something you have to do by yourself.

HelloHi İsmailTPC_Hastanesi
Thank you for your work in keeping old motherboards looking like new. I've downloaded the version 1203 for Asus P6T Deluxe V2. Unfortunately my nvme ssd has not yet been recognized for booting, I read your instructions and I'm sending the properties of my nvme controller inserted into the pci express port. I ask please, if possible, create a new bios version compatible with this controller. My nvme ssd is a Netac NE-1TB 2280. Thank you very much from Brazil.
the method is quite simple, extract one of the rom for ssd, just replace the id with an hex editor, and put back the rom in the bios.
i m not sur Asus uses the same tools than gigabyte. I did mine with CBROM155 and a hex editor, took me a couple of minutes.
i'll post a longer explaination later on the consequences i had on my setup with a 2TB 980 Pro from samsung. still didnt understand exactly why now the boot takes like 2 minutes before actually booting. unsure if the cloning was bad or if the 850 original rom code has troubles talking with a 2TB nvme. so proceed carefully. in the end my computer is rebooted once every 10 days so i dont really care. but if ever you get a "long pre boot time" too, there might be something fishy with 2TB drives.
i lack the hardware to make a real test, and the time to make a full clean reinstall.

Yeah, I have a 980 Pro 2TB and I am more or less in the same boat:Thanks Killogy, that is interesting experience
Anyone else using a Samsung 980 Pro ? there might be something interesting there.
On my side i dont really care, as i said, computer stays up, anyway, for very long uptime, but it could be nice to understand why the original bios code does not like the Pro serie.
Yeah, I have a 980 Pro 2TB and I am more or less in the same boat:
- Using my custom bios with 950 OpRom, the boot process is quite slow (not so long as yours, but still very noticeable). The bios from the creator of this thread is even slower (with all due respect to his work).
- Using the NvmeOpRom the boot process is perfect, but I have that bug restarting from windows in which the disk dissapears until you power off the system (so the workaround to restart is power off > power on).
In this post, this guy managed to solve both issues in his Asus P6T using an alternative OpRom (oprom_2260_109.bin):
Интеграция legacy NVME bios в старые платы [10] - Конференция iXBT.com

I downloaded and tried with my MSI X58 Pro-E but it didn't work for me.
All my bioses were modded via the easy MMTOOL method for AMI bios.
Cheers.
