Warning! FAKE Samsung 870EVO, 980PRO and 990PRO SSD around.

Recently because we have Xmas and New year a big wave of FAKE Samsung SSD's are going around the world! Even SSD that really does not exist, such as 980EVO or 990EVO SSD.
Many of them also seem to fool Samsung Magician in the screenshot below, an 870EVO from 2 TB, but FAKE! But you can see it doesn't say it's GENUINE!

Best change, look also to the firmware version number; A REAL 870EVO should have firmware like SVT03B6Q, SVT02B6Q or SVT01B6Q, if you see anything else, it's fake!
Nowadays, you should be cautious when purchasing hardware online, even if it's not from Chinese online platforms like AliExpress or Temu. Major retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, and Newegg, have marketplaces where third-party sellers can sell their products.

Many of them have a serial number that even can fool Samsung Magician, or it complains in red letters something is wrong;

Always check that Samsung Magician says it's GENUINE! As in the screenshot below;

Some of the FAKE ones will show up in Magician as not GENUINE, but other will, so always check for GENUINE sign at the serial number.

I do remind that website Delaihe.com then after it came out on YouTube and forums, just disappeared from the world... Even now that website it's just away, but they still sell the fake ones at moment at Aliexpress, it's really full of them. Some even 25 dollar for an 990pro from 4TB. This while a REAL one cost's about ten times more.

Tho, they never offered any software support - beyond the most basic informative info - as much as they'd show for an SSD from a different brand. Beyond the official driver Samsung NVMe™ Driver - there's no other real support whatsoever from Samsung (even firmware wise - some OEMs released updates - while others didn't bother). Yet, this too are GENUINE Samsung SSDs.

Yes, what you say is correct. I was talking about the SSD that you can buy as a consumer, of course. Remarkable; Samsung doesn't even offer support to OEM users, they kindly refer you to the supplier. And no software support either. They still see old discontinued SSDs as GENUINE. For example i have old SSD here like the 850 and 860, and they are GENUINE in Magician.

But other brand's do the same thing, nu support if it is a OEM drive... What in the world, while you also did buy and paid for it, no support, not genuine? I do know that they use cheaper components in OEM drives.

When you are broke, starving, living in a 5m² box passing for an apt and the authorities don't care as long as they are paid off and the average citzen isn't sowing dissent it is hardly a wonder shit like this is rampant. The issue is people continually buying from them when this is to be expected.

I remember watching a video from DeBauer where he bought a 16TB External SSD. On initial setup it did register as 16TB. The only issue was it actually turned out to be 16GB of USB Flash once opened. There was a small controller on the PCB that fooled Windows into seeing 16TB. Note to self only buy SSDs that are from local shops or by Amazon or Newegg themselves. There are plenty of China based SSDs from brands like Kingspec sold by Newegg that are not fake. The people that do this are for those that subscribe to the narrative like Samsung drives are still the fastest so that gets noobs thinking that they are getting a great deal.

The Chinese are capable of making very good and trustworthy electronics that's for sure, I just think it's a shame that they harm so many people, especially themselves, so that no one trusts you anymore... You would actually earn more with low prices and reasonable quality. Anyway, those scammers don't care about that of course.
