please help ibuypower

i have a ibuypower i bought like a year and half ago and i was wondering if its possible to upgrade the graphics card to something new or if its worth doing? right now my specs are:

We probably need to know more about the motherboard. Does the iBuypower have a model number? If you still have the box it should be on there somewhere.
Can you see any brand and model number on the motherboard?

If you want to stay with Nvidia a 3060 would be a good card for the money. If you want AMD a 6600 or 7600 will be just as fast and cheaper. A 6700XT is about the best price/performance card but that is usually a little more expensive. Your CPU is fine for 1080P Gaming. The 10400F was one of the most popular CPUs in prebuilt PCs around the time you reference.

Doesn't hurt to look and make sure there isn't any issues with the layout. Looks like it will support a dual slot card before it blocks a PCIe x1 slot.

That sounds like an MSI model that went into plenty of OEMs. It should be a Micro Atx board

It looks like the case is big enough. The board only has a 2nd M2 as a desirable slot below the GPU. You already have a dual slot card so you could get a bigger card if you wanted. Something like As Rock Challenger cards.

My recommendation would be the 3060. As the motherboard is a PCIe 3.0 board, you'll lose some potential performance with any card that's a PCIe 4.0 card that's only 8x (like the 6600, 7600, and 4060).

The reason for the question is to get some idea of the quality of the PSU and how many PCIe power connectors (and types: 6pin, 8pin etc...) it provides for GPU's. We just want to make sure you won't have a problem with your existing PSU and any GPU recommendation.

If you don't have a spec sheet that came with your iBuyPower you might have to take out the PSU from your case to identify it. If your iBuyPower has a model number there is a chance we might find the specs for it online. Here is a sample picture of a power supply so you know what you are looking for. In this example you can see the vendor Corsair and the Model RM850x.

Looks like problem solved as long as that is an 8 pin power connector. It is the plug inserted into the top of the GPU. It should be a pigtail.
