What are you playing?

Got this yesterday on the basis of this developer's soundtracks typically being quite good

It's pretty fun so far, actually. The controls are kinda weird though. I would recommend playing it with a controller, but keep the mouse nearby for when you need to do menuing.

I tried Forza 8 multi player again today and must say I actually had fun. The Racing was good and I never got speared. The races also had the most "Im sorry" chats since I started playing. The problem that 8 faces is that 7 was so complete in terms of tracks that this seems like a DLC for that Game instead of a separate Game. I know FLC is coming but they said the same thing about Avengers. It is Friday though so once the Football is done (and I get my Daughter) I will be immersing myself into the 40K universe with the best Game that has been recently released Rouge Trader. I want to add that Space Marine to my cohort but battles are so satisfyingly difficult that it may be a while. Make sure you have lots of Med kits.

What is your life?
My honour is my life.
What is your craft?
My craft is death.
What is your pledge?
My pledge is eternal service.

I have Rogue Trader in my library too. Love the lore, didn’t paint any warhammer since 2005. This is a very expensive hobby. YES YES

Totally enjoyed the first one. This one looks nice like real nice. I thought 2023 was a great year for Gaming on all fronts but 2024 looks like a mic drop year for those moaning about Gaming diminishing. Crimson Desert looks promising as a Diablo style ARPG that you can actually fly in.

Gimme my Thousand-Year Door remaster cartridge when it releases and you won't see me complaining

WHAT IS THIS!!!!!????

I remember the original, tons of fun! I'll absolutely be comparing it to GrimDawn, but I have hopes :)

still rolling thru Starfield, haven't completed the main quest at all... eyeing Empyrion Galactic Survival, but think I want to dig a little longer in to Starfield... and I'm DYING for S.T.AL.K.E.R. ......

I'm still having fun with Days Gone Game+ and my amphibious bike :)

I don't have too many criticisms of the game, except the cutscenes when you rescue a hostage who was about to be executed - their reaction to being rescued goes on and on and you just want Deek to say, "Enough already!"
The other gripe is for the overly long cutscenes and quests with Sarah, Deek's irritating wife, where you have to follow her at a snail's pace, following which you have the tricky task of gathering Lavender.
Other than that, there are a few more minor gripes such as Sarah's behaviour later in the game, but the fun part is riding around on the bike.

Bought Alan Wake II in the Epic sale. Really disappointed. Apart from the insanely poor fps, it just bores me. I don't even want to persevere past the opening 10 minutes of gameplay. The whole 'case file' and 'case room' element feels badly contrived. And again, the terrible decision to cram it with RT tech seems to have ruined it. My £800 NV graphics card is on it's knees. Fucking shocking. Uninstalled it out of spite.
This is pretty much what my mind told me it was probably going to be. Pushed game, marketed more than developed, totally skippable. Shame you had to experience it...

Yeah that comparison is going to be very interesting. They have shared roots in the engine. How well can THQ copy Crate... and how much can they splash onto the ARPG themselves in 2024. Very curious!

Topic is turning into a 'what are you going to be playing' currently :D

Didn't THQ make the game engine Crate licensed or w/e for the original Titan Quest!? I don't know if the sequel is using the same engine or not or similar to Larian is repurposing it or w/e I believe Balders Gate 3 is using the same game engine from DOS 1 and DOS 2, but wouldn't be too surprised if they've made some modifications to it along the way to expand around what it does and how it does so.

Anyway TQ2 should be interesting it certainly looks improved graphically from the original so that is a positive. Having anything more on par with what Crate has done with Grim Dawn would be welcome enough given TQ has interesting lore involved. I haven't actually played TQ, but it looks decent enough Greek mythology certainly isn't a terrible basis to build a game around. It's the premise of quite a few games in part actually. At least the screenshots shown look pretty promising.

This is why i buy only on Steam. No question asked if you played less than 2 hours. And they are quick to reply to the ticket. Under 12h in general it’s done and refund on the way.
Are you kidding? GOG has a 30(Thirty) Day return policy. Steam(and everyone else) is pathetic by comparison. Yet another reason why GOG is the best and has no peer!

I have 7 months to finish Alan Wake 2, Avatar: FoP and Starfield. Challenge accepted. :D
Tall order, though you might just quit halfway through because its impossible to keep going. All three titles seem to have that potential, Im certain of two of them anyway :)

So you could buy it, then finish the game and return it? this is exactly why Steam has a 2hr limit.

I'm gen Y. Made in early 1995, 29 y.o.
Yeah, I was made even longer ago but gen Z humor is a bit like what we had fun with, but then x1000 and fully self aware. Or something

I will only stop shitposting over my dead body.

[I guess it's about time I stop going off-topic]

Finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice last night in one go.

It was on my list for a long time but I was never in a 'mood' for that kind of game. And then I simply forgot it. But I'm glad I finally played it. I dont even have any SS to put here because I was so into the game whole time :D Ninja Theory did a great job and I know there is a sequel(?) coming probably in this year. Looking forward to it of course. I hope they can continue with what they managed unique in this game. 3D sounds/voices are chef's kiss.

I had to do a couple tweaking for graphic settings though. Motion Blur hid behind another setting was a bad move. I had to tweak .ini files to disable what I didnt want. I'm also surprised they added RT in game later. Although I didnt use it for the most time because I decided to go with high refresh rate gameplay instead. I could do RT low but that didnt really improve anything to my eye (there were no reflections). Oh and I used some filters that I liked more with reshade & SMAA.

If you still have it in your backlog, I highly suggest anyone to try it (with headphones).

Like this ost in the first game

That song pumped me up nicely at the end. It is such a fitting sound too. You can exactly feel, after all that heavy story, that you are now free. It made me rush to the enemies like it's another hack&slash game  Maybe it worked a little too good.

But now I already jump to another backlog item, Outer Wilds. (I feel kinda ashamed that I have such great titles at backlog:ohwell:)
