And more arriving today from Aliexpress:

1 2.5Gbps Nic ($4.91); 1 NVMe to PCIe Express adapter ($1.79); and an Aigo ICE200 CPU cooler ($5.39)

No idea what I will do with the cooler - I just needed a 10th item for free shipping. The PCIe adapter is interesting - the bracket is plastic, rather than metal. The Nic is between $15 & $25 on Amazon.

On the saddle topic, I got a real cheap one. Saving up for WTB Silverado/Volt.

I was dumb. Wasnt paying attention, over-torqued some jockey wheels and ended up stripping the threads in one of the plates. I could have just bought plate that I stripped out but both were a little scuffed up anyway so why the hell not.

Nothing visible, so probably inside the main IC/CPU, or could have been dropped or stepped on showered with liquid too many times.

If it can survive a boy from ages 5-18 it should get an MIL approval for survivability.

I've had the AX4400 for a couple years. (Mostly similar specs, slightly slower top speeds on the 5GHz band.) I have no complaints. I pay for 500Mb internet, and get every bit of that, on both wired and wireless connections.

It's much better than my old one, then again, my old one was just bad in general (dlink ax1500 something), on my old one, i got tired of random disconnects(specially when 10 or more devices are connected), sudden speed throttle(overheating?) and smaller area coverage.
There is also the AX5400 Pro variant, which is mostly similar in specs aside from the 2.5Gb ports on the Pro.

He was using some generic low end Chinese dashcam since 2016, so I figured it's about time for an upgrade.

There is also the AX5400 Pro variant, which is mostly similar in specs aside from the 2.5Gb ports on the Pro.

My netgear R7000 suffered from the same issue. Heavy use particularly during the warmer months in the UK would cause my router to crash. This happened even during simple gaming sessions when it was just me using the internet. So I changed the power supply to a much more beefy one and all the crashing stopped

My theory was that the stock power adapter was getting really hot and not being able to keep up the required output and I was right. Unfortunately the beefier power supply died and rather than replace it, its probably a better Idea that I replace my R7000 altogether for something newer which is where the TP-link comes in.

Now that you mentioned it,I didn't consider its power supply, i thought the unit itself is overheating as even when putting an active fan on its vents didn't help
