Hah, there's nothing ethical or consumer-friendly about any megacorp!Because the super ethical, consumer friendly company AMD, who always has their fans' interests at heart, is unopposed in the HEDT market and currently charges whatever it wants for the Ryzen Threadripper. The cheapest consumer-grade TR is currently $1,500.
They have reached megacorp status by:
- getting as close to the law as possible, often breaking it and just settling the lawsuit.
- charging people as much as they can get away with, no charity unless you can gain PR or exposure from said charity.
- investing huge amounts of resources in political and marketing spin to sell things to consumers, governements, investors, etc.
- being caught cheating, lying, stealing and sometimes even in the act of covering up said offences or other socially/ethically-inappropriate behaviours such as astroturfing and smear campaigns.
