I don't see why that fan would not fit on front of the heatsink though.. Ok it can be mounted a bit higher maybe just above the memory sticks..

I will try and switch it before i power on in morning.

I dusted the shelf this time. I have a few more pairs across the room on another shelf. From left to right:
Stax SR-L700mkII
Sennheiser HD 660 S
Grado GS1000
Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm
Koss ESP-95X electrostatic
(hanging below the shelf: Sony Pulse 3d for the PS5)

On the other shelf:
Audeze LCD2 Rev. 2F
Grado SR325is
NAD VISO HP50
Sony MDR-XB700

View attachment 336276

Just curious, but if you own STAX, why would you want to own anything else? Doesn't it destroy everything? I have not heard high end STAX, but that is just my understanding of it, once you STAX you never go back?

I really miss my Beyerdynamic T90's, they were only good for a few genres, but the female vocals on them were imo unsurpassed.

My PC: Currently taken apart as I am selling it all, this is what it will look like for about 18 months, working remote, I decided to travel and see some beautiful things before I inevitably die around age 50 as I have health problems 4 pages long. My advice: don't wait until old age to see the National Parks or other beautiful places, Plato's Allegory of the Cave = modernity

@Space Lynx I've heard that statement more than a few times about STAX. It is by far the best headphones I have ever used. I can still appreciate other headphones though. It's been a bit of a hobby of mine for years. I love the STAX though!

Enjoy your traveling! Don't die though at 50. :(

edit: Current state of the dying RTX 3080. I will test it with the troublesome Asus B650E-E and the awesome hothead 7700X linked with the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 cpu cooler on the BC1 test bench.

Had a listen to my B&W P7s today, still love them after all these years.

And i still think the build quality gives some modern headphones a run for the money too.

@FoulOnWhite I've known of those cans but unfortunately, I have not had the chance to demo them. I have no doubt they are lovely.

My backup rig now has the Seasonic Vertex GX-850.
20240314_171020.jpg

Things still to buy; gpu support, currently using a psu (SFX) bracket.

And the Asus's are being tested as I write this. One stick of DDR5 for now is enough, might upgrade later. Or just sell the components (mobo, cpu)

Edit: A couple of gpu stress test later and everything works fine.. I guess I have another backup rig, lol.

Hi,
Nice gpu hanger combo you got there hehe :rockout:
View attachment 339324
One zip tie with a head of another is kinda discrete behind a TG panel, and does tighten that sagging corner well.
sweet!! I didn't get a glimpse of that initially.... maybe too busy counting the 13 fans in a pretty compact case! One thing is certain, when it comes to airflow Veseleil doesn't mess around :) (taking ideas)
I follow a simple formula - more (bigger) fans on lower speeds have better airflow and less noise than fewer (and smaller) ones screaming. You also may notice that the case had a meeting with a grinder to make it possible to fit 3x140mm fans at the front, so there's no going back to 3x120mm there anymore. Kudos to the case manufacturers that provide separate mounting brackets for different fan sizes, because losing >30% of airflow space for the sake of the compatibility is stupid. I actually hate this case and its outdated layout, but I made it cool and silent as it can be. Even with a pair of very loud by default HDDs tucked in there.

Edit:

BTW, my G305 got itself a nice bath.
IMG_20240317_145704.jpg
Took it all apart, you'd be surprised how many pieces and screws it actually has. Soaked all of the switches with contact cleaner a dozen times, and the same with isopropyl alc. Washed the outer shell with soap, and everything else with isoprop. alc. and a toothbrush. The wheel and everything around it was so disgusting, it could made it to the known thread... but taking photo of it was the last thing on my mind.
Logitech used Omron switches for the main and side buttons (can't figure which one is the middle button switch), but they used Kailh switch for the DPI button. IDK what to think of it really.

Change one of the EVO(?) fans at the bottom to FC140 stock fan then you'll have no matching fans in sight! That's impressive in a way :D

Change one of the EVO(?) fans at the bottom to FC140 stock fan then you'll have no matching fans in sight! That's impressive in a way :D
The Evo fans are at the bottom of the case, I have a T30 in the center, a TL-B12 E from my Ultra 120, and a TY-143 exhausting at the rear

Update:

It seems that the misfire left click issue is fixed by this.
Tip of the day: Do not write off your mouse (switches) when they develop double click or misfire clicks, try to clean them first, it's not a rocket science. You also get the chance to clean the rest as well. Someone already mentioned it somewhere on TPU not so long ago, and I gave it a try. Thanks.

Nice. I had the same issue with my G502 (mentioned previously in this thread when upgrading to a Razor Bas V3). Too lazy to strip it down to clean the contacts but a quick temporary fix being blowing compressed air through the crevices (under the left/right mouse buttons). It worked every time, for a while. I still have it stored away and a YT guide saved for a proper clean up (or i could just send it over to Veseleil hehe).

I follow a simple formula - more (bigger) fans on lower speeds have better airflow and less noise than fewer (and smaller) ones screaming.

A formula shared! I too populate all fan mounts and lower the fan curve for whisper quiet performance or on the gaming rig tolerable acoustics... even if it means to lose a little performance on the GPU. If i ever get off my lazy-ass might just mod the 3080 with some 120MMs. The enemy being the PSU fan ramp up... thats the surrendering limit!

You also may notice that the case had a meeting with a grinder to make it possible to fit 3x140mm fans at the front

Nice! I'm currently working on my 601 from BeQuiet with some nifty upgrades... 5800X3D, ALFIII and a 5-pack Arctic 140s. No grinding needed here :p (will be posting up pics soon)
