At the same time they could all crash and burn and have 0 income if they didn't "invest" properly, they could easily become homeless if they just go on a money wasting spree.
It can go 2 ways I guess but yeah as a whole they are getting overpaid and there is no "average" or a "max" capped salary for any profession really since its a "supply and demand" use case, one could argue CEO/directors etc shouldn't be earning triple or even million figures a year as well that could go up and up a year and also bonuses as well.

Its kinda like software engineer in the UK which is very location dependant and experience.
Junior engineer: 19-25k if outside of London, 23-35k if within london
Engineer (more experienced than junior and is involved with meetings with other departments) - 27-45k if outside london, 45k-60k in london
Senior - 55-80k outside London, 60-100k+ for London

This is a very good observation, sir.

As for breakdancing. It's more impressive than some dude or dudette spinning in a circle to throw what looks like a construction tool across a football pitch.

We went to pick up the missus's new glasses yesterday. I parked in the town centre for maybe an hour, but it was enough for somebody to leave a small scratch on my car and then try to smear it with dirt with his/her fingers. And people wonder why I never go anywhere unless I absolutely have to.

Anyway, the car has other chips and dings that need fixing, so... Does anybody have any experience with ChipsAway? Are they good?

I have used them a couple of times in the past but not for about 8 years, they were very good and at the time pretty reasonable although I have no idea about their rates today, so like most companies they are likely double what I paid which i can't remember anyway but the work was immaculate, however that may vary from one individual to another.

I failed at science but I'm sure with that amount of TNT Mr pilot would have become part of the atmosphere he was flying through in his B17 but now all in atomised particle form.

It's unfortunate, and no disrespect intended to the pilot or the team trying to dig him out but he doesn't exist in this universe no more.

I get the windows 10 booting thing but as soon as I get to the login screen, its black screen which means that W10 is in a funk and cant load default drivers. Since its 1am, there is nothing I can do till tomorrow as I need to shift the tower forward to get to the IGP and that will make too much noise.

Normally DDU works perfectly fine 8 out of 10 times so I keep using it. Maybe I'll stop using it and only bring it out if the pc is being funky after a driver update.

Im extremely cautious with AMD driver updates because they have always been buggy as hell for me and not played nice with my setup at all compared to how smooth my system ram with my 1080Ti. So If a driver works for me, I wont be constantly updating because I dont need all optimisations for newer games.

Im only updating because of the constant driver crashes and suttering/microstuttering when watching youtube. It drops so many hundreds of frames for reasons unknown and apart from duff drivers there is nothing else to blame because the card is 'fairly new' still and Im not doing anything in the background either that demands use of the GPu. Bugs also come and go with driver releases. Some bugs get fixed while some different ones get added. Some even never get fixed like with the issue with the power consumption when running multiple monitors.

I was looking at a 4070Ti earlier but those are still around £600-700. As much as Id like to have one. 7900GRE is cheaper but I might aswell not bother due to poor drivers and how this pc handles AMD cards.

Maybe people on more modern machines have better experiences. This 6700XT of mine has never been silky smooth.

That's what I do with DDU:

1. Update driver with only the installer.
2. If it fails, or bugs out, then uninstall using the Nvidia/AMD uninstaller and do a clean install.
3. If it still bugs out, then use DDU.

I rarely ever reach the 3rd step.

Nvidia is still way too expensive, imo. I've just sold my 7800 XT to spend the money on upcoming gigs and trips, but when they're over, I'll be looking at RDNA 4. I haven't tried an Nvidia card since Turing, and it'll stay that way as long as they keep playing the "we're the only GPU maker, and you'll pay whatever we ask" game.

In future i'll probably create a fresh system backup/image. keep it on a hard drive and just roll it once every 2 years.

Huh... So I only installed this OS in 2020.

We are finally up and rolling again.

At the same time its messed around with my audio setup. I usually have the IGP output audio to my Yamaha Receiver, but if I run in exactly the same config. W10 doesnt like extending the desktop without treating the phantom monitor as the primary monitor. I know i can drag the monitors around and set which one is primary but im going to see how this goes before messing about with it anymore than i need to. it was a headache to get it working properly the last time. Everything was locked at the refreshrate of the AVR and wouldn't go any higher.

My installation has survived about 3 entirely different systems. It's a miracle that it's still running without problems.

Keeping a fresh installation on a separate drive and cloning sounds like a good idea, although it might not take less time than a fresh install, so I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'm also tempted to try Linux after a roughly 10-year pause to see how things have improved gaming-wise. I've heard Proton is quite good these days. One thing is for sure: I will not let Spydows 11 anywhere near any of my PCs.

As for buying new hardware, yeah, I'd wait until autumn when all the new stuff comes out. Even if not for the new stuff directly, then for a discount on current gen.

My installation has survived about 3 entirely different systems. It's a miracle that it's still running without problems.

My installs usually last very long as well. I wont bother unless it is broken due to random software messing it up. I had this before on multiple occasions where it will change how W10 handles certain tasks and uninstalling the software still leaves enough remnants of the app that it still messes with W10. Sometimes I cant uninstall this software at all and it keeps running in the background.

I'll probably do this too. I have a few old 2.5" SSDs that are now very surplus to requirements. I'll create an image then store it on one of them.

One of the reasons why I have so many drives hooked up. steam library! Although I'll copy and paste my C:/Users folder and program data folders so I can recover all sorts of settings and other data from it to save time if software has to be reinstalled again.
