Scattered comments in the news section, bout time we get an official thread for this one.

System requirements.

The Collector's Edition launches today 11am PT/2pm ET/18:00 UTC.

Everyone else on May 13th 11am PT/2pm ET/18:00 UTC.

Preliminary analysis of the game.

Personal wants: Gearbox to release paid version .stl file for the mothership. I mean they have it for the injection molding of the collector's edition, might as well upload it on Printables/Thingverse/whatever for some fee....wouldn't hurt the sales you know.

The original art book from the previous collector's edition reached truly unobtainable status...something that cost $180-250 is now >$1000. Touch with gloves

Don’t know what that is but I do have a 3d scanner and a resin printer

I am in the same boat buddy, just gonna straight up watch a "No commentary playthrough" on youtube.

What hits me from the preliminary tests is people complaining about RTS (and Homeworld 3 in specific) being "moba-rts" where units have abilities and you need APM spamming and resource collection is a mess and so on...but you know what, my all time favourite RTS is StarCraft...rushes and APM that's my jam, I am not so sure if this new direction for HW3 is as bad as they say. I never had the time to sprawl on a mission hours on end anyway.

I tell you playing the demo was so fun I don’t even care what the critics say. I also can’t wait to see where the story goes.

You should be the manual from the original Homeworld. Up until 5yrs ago I still had the original manual, it was 50+pages. Lost it all when the storage unit burn down.

My favorite thing to do in multiplayer back when Homeworld came out was grav generator with a cloak generator anytime fighters would come around. Or cloak fighters with a support frigate to destroy resource collectors. Everyone underestimated the cloak fighters, expensive to produce and research, but worth it. I won so many matches only on cloak fighters.

I hope it won't be as hard as Homeworld 2. It's a nice game, but the difficulty level was manic.

I'll also make sure to do some below-minimum spec testing with a 6500 XT.

My 7800 XT is in the process of selling to make extra money for the summer holidays. :ohwell:

7 MB/s is my limit and I have the best plan available. I want Fibre like yesterday but the Govt body that monitors Terlephony has given a crippling decision for my main ISP. You see they have decided that anyone can come onto their platform without paying for installation.

It’s good! Definitely take the tutorial to get used to the controls; HOWEVER! They DO provide (built in!) a homeworld 2 control mode plain as day ask you at the main menu.

it also runs really nice though I limit it it also has a built in benchmark ala tomb raider. I should start a score thread.

anyway screen shots tonight. I’m finishing the valve job on my truck right now.

It would be nice to know if it benefits from x3d cache on the CPU side or not. I have not been able to find an answer to that question, so if you could just test one card with one 7800x3d would be helpful, then we can compare it the same Intel test setup card and see if the x3d cache gave a gain. No need to test more than one card though imo, we should be able to see it or not fairly easily I would think.

7800x3d preferably tested with a MERC310 7900 XT -60 uv?...
